  • Perform Linux server configuration and security hardening based on established standards.
  • Configure storage, networking, security controls, and operating system services.
  • Support infrastructure design, implementation, migration, deployment, and cutover activities.
  • Work closely with application, database, network, cloud, storage, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Participate in project planning, technical design reviews, and infrastructure implementation activities.
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness for application onboarding, releases, and production deployments.
  • Configure and support high-availability and clustering solutions.
  • Develop Shell and Python scripts to automate server provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational activities.
  • Implement configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Standardise server builds, configurations, and deployment procedures.
  • Perform operating system patching, vulnerability remediation, and security updates.
  • Troubleshoot complex L3 operating system, infrastructure, storage, performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance and recommend improvements where required.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure infrastructure complies with applicable security, organisational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical design documents, build documents, SOPs, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and handover to operations and support teams.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant UNIX/Linux infrastructure engineering and administration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Linux.
  • Strong experience with enterprise UNIX/Linux server installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing operating system security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux patching, system services, access controls, and security configuration.
  • Experience with high-availability and clustering technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with VCS and VCS FSS or similar enterprise clustering solutions.
  • Strong Shell scripting skills for infrastructure and operational automation.
  • Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.
  • Experience with VMware virtualisation environments.
  • Experience working with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and LVM.
  • Experience with server provisioning, configuration management, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and Linux network configuration.
  • Experience supporting enterprise production environments and resolving complex L3 incidents.
  • Experience with capacity planning and system performance analysis.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and implementation.
  • Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer capabilities.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with IBM MQ would be advantageous.
  • Experience developing infrastructure automation scripts, playbooks, and standardised server build processes.
  • Exposure to large-scale infrastructure transformation, migration, or modernisation projects.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
