Job Description

Responsible for delivering advanced yoga education, developing structured programmes, conducting Yoga Teacher Training, leading advanced training, workshops and retreats, mentoring instructors, and maintaining high standards of yoga teaching and education.

1. Senior Yoga Teaching

Conduct group, private, specialised and advanced yoga classes for practitioners at different levels. Teach Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa and other traditional or contemporary methodologies. Develop progressive sequences, provide clear demonstrations and alignment guidance, adapt practices to individual abilities, and maintain safe and effective teaching standards.

2. Yoga Education & Curriculum Development

Develop and continuously improve structured yoga programmes and progressive learning pathways from foundational to advanced levels. Create lesson plans, course structures, teaching materials and educational resources covering asana, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment and teaching methodology. Establish appropriate learning objectives and contribute to new educational programmes based on student and organisational needs.

3. Yoga Teacher Training & Advanced Training

Design and conduct Yoga Teacher Training Programmes for aspiring and practising teachers, covering asana, sequencing, alignment, anatomy, physiology, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, teaching methodology, class management and safe teaching practices. Deliver advanced yoga training and continuing education for experienced practitioners and qualified teachers. Assess practical teaching skills and provide structured professional feedback and development guidance.

4. Yoga Workshops & Masterclasses

Develop and facilitate workshops, masterclasses and specialised educational programmes covering areas such as advanced asana, alignment, functional anatomy, sequencing, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, mobility and teaching methodology. Manage programme content, learning objectives and delivery while evaluating participant feedback to improve future sessions.

5. Yoga Retreat Leadership

Plan and lead yoga retreats locally and internationally where required. Develop retreat schedules incorporating yoga sessions, meditation, pranayama, workshops and other educational activities. Manage the delivery of structured retreat programmes, provide participant guidance and maintain appropriate standards of safety, professionalism and educational quality.

6. Teacher Mentoring & Professional Development

Mentor junior, newly qualified and practising instructors through teaching observations, internal training and constructive feedback. Support development in sequencing, communication, demonstrations, adjustments, classroom management and student engagement. Contribute to instructor onboarding, continuing education and professional development initiatives.

7. Student Development & Teaching Quality

Assess students’ abilities, experience and learning requirements and provide appropriate guidance on classes, programmes and progression. Establish teaching guidelines and best practices, promote safe and sustainable practice, and support consistency across instructors and programmes. Stay current with developments in yoga education, anatomy, movement science and teaching methodology.

8. Programme Development & Educational Leadership

Contribute to the organisation’s long-term yoga education strategy through the development of new courses, advanced programmes, workshops, teacher-training programmes and specialised educational offerings. Support programme planning, retreats, educational events and professional collaborations, while identifying opportunities to enhance teaching quality, student development and educational services.

Requirements

A recognised minimum 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification or equivalent professional qualification is required. A 300-hour or 500-hour advanced yoga qualification is strongly preferred. Additional education in yoga anatomy, physiology, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, movement science, yoga therapy or related disciplines is advantageous.

Minimum 3+ years of professional yoga teaching experience, with demonstrated capability across beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Experience in curriculum development, structured programme design, workshops, specialised training and instructor mentoring is required. Experience conducting Yoga Teacher Training Programmes, advanced yoga training and leading yoga retreats is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa and traditional yoga practices, together with sound understanding of functional anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, alignment, safe movement, pranayama, meditation and yoga philosophy.

Proven ability to independently design and deliver teacher-training programmes, advanced training, workshops and retreats, including developing educational content, lesson plans and assessment methods.

Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, presentation, facilitation and programme-management capabilities. Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, sound judgement and commitment to student development and safe teaching practices.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with instructors and management, contribute to educational planning, and support continuous improvement of teaching standards and professional development.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of yoga education, teaching methodology, anatomy and movement practices.

This version is less repetitive, more senior-sounding, and still keeps the responsibilities broad enough to cover teacher training, advanced education, workshops, retreats and curriculum leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
