The posting

This role is suitable for candidates with experience in server testing, computer hardware, electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, EMS, networking equipment, IT hardware or technical production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, diagnostic and system-level testing of server, storage and networking hardware.
  • Set up and operate server/rack test stations, test fixtures and diagnostic equipment.
  • Execute test procedures and record accurate test results, failure symptoms and troubleshooting actions.
  • Perform server and rack-level testing according to approved Test Process Instructions (TPI), Work Instructions and engineering requirements.
  • Use Linux and DOS operating systems / command-line environments to execute diagnostic commands, test applications and troubleshooting utilities.
  • Perform basic Linux command-line troubleshooting, including checking system status, hardware information, logs, devices and network connectivity.
  • Use DOS-based diagnostic and firmware utilities where required.
  • Troubleshoot server hardware, software, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, cabling, network and test-station issues.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics involving CPU, memory, storage, motherboard, power supply, network interfaces and other server components.
  • Analyse error codes, test failures, system logs and diagnostic results to identify potential root causes.
  • Support BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware updates and system configuration checks.
  • Perform basic network hardware and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Support test template configuration, rack test setup and system/database configuration where required.
  • Assist with Golden Image (GI) preparation and server configuration where required.
  • Support NPI by assisting with test station setup, test procedure validation and production readiness.
  • Conduct re-testing following component replacement, configuration changes or corrective actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring test failures and escalate complex issues to Test/Engineering teams.
  • Assist with test procedure, diagnostic script and test process improvements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production testers/operators on testing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate test records and follow ESD, safety, quality and production procedures.

Requirements

  • Diploma / Nitec / Higher Nitec in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, IT or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in testing, manufacturing, server hardware, computer hardware or engineering support.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and DOS operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Understanding of basic electrical/electronic concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of network hardware and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with BIOS, UEFI, firmware, drivers and operating system configuration is advantageous.
  • Able to read and understand test procedures, BOMs, Engineering Instructions and technical documentation.
  • Experience with server, rack-mounted systems or hardware testing is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand Python or other programming/test scripts is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 🔥 4 DAYS PER WEEK 📍 Location: Tampines (EAST) ⏰ WORKING HOURS • Permanent Sunday off • Day: 8am – 8pm • Night: 8pm – 8am • Rotational day/night shift • 12-hour rotating shifts
