About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support and enhance a large-scale government platform. You will be responsible for ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and security of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Design and implement monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent tools.
  • Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
  • Manage incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident improvements.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Manage and optimise containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices to improve deployment efficiency and platform stability.
  • Collaborate with development teams on system architecture, performance optimisation, and capacity planning.
  • Develop automation scripts and internal tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Bash.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
  • Good understanding of networking, security, troubleshooting, and system performance optimisation.

Good to Have

  • Experience with GitOps, Istio, HashiCorp Vault, or microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with frontend or backend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, or Golang.
  • Knowledge of government ICT standards, IM8 policies, or regulated environments would be advantageous
