The posting

Presales Systems Engineer

The Presales Systems Engineer (S7) is a senior technical sales professional responsible for driving growth, win-rate, and customer adoption of Dell Technologies solutions across the SAEM (South Asia Emerging Markets) region. Operating as a trusted advisor to customers and partners, this role combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to shape solution strategy, influence decision makers, and ensure successful outcomes from early discovery through to closure and handover.

The Presales Systems Engineer is expected to lead complex opportunities, orchestrate virtual teams (solution specialists, product teams, services, partners), and mentor junior presales engineers across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer engagement and technical sales cycles for strategic accounts, conducting discovery workshops, presenting solutions, managing POCs/POVs, responding to RFPs/RFIs, and serving as a trusted technical advisor to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Design end-to-end infrastructure architectures leveraging Dell’s portfolio across AI, servers, storage, data protection, HCI, networking, multicloud, and as-a-Service solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, compliance standards, and business outcomes.
  • Drive technical validation and solution assurance through POCs, POVs, and lab testing, defining success criteria, providing hands-on guidance, and documenting reusable reference architectures and best practices.
  • Partner with sales teams to accelerate business growth, contributing to account planning, pipeline generation, deal strategy, forecasting accuracy, and technical negotiations to maximize customer value and win rates.
  • Provide competitive and market intelligence by articulating Dell’s differentiation, monitoring industry trends, gathering customer feedback, and developing sales enablement assets such as battlecards and positioning materials.
  • Act as a technical SME and thought leader, delivering internal enablement, mentoring presales teams, and representing Dell at customer engagements, partner forums, and industry events across key technology domains.

Qualifications

  • Extensive presales and solutions architecture experience, with 12–15+ years in enterprise IT infrastructure, a strong academic foundation (or equivalent experience), and a proven track record of leading and winning complex enterprise technology deals across regional or multinational environments.
  • Strong consultative, customer-facing, and commercial acumen, capable of engaging C-level executives and technical teams, translating business needs into technical solutions, articulating trade-offs, and demonstrating value through TCO, ROI, and consumption-based models.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including presentations, workshops, whiteboarding, storytelling, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence and lead virtual teams without direct authority.
  • Broad technical expertise across infrastructure, cloud, and modern workloads, including servers, storage, data protection, HCI, virtualization, hybrid/multicloud architectures, Kubernetes/container platforms, and AI/ML infrastructure concepts.
  • Solid networking, security, and automation knowledge, covering LAN/SAN technologies, security and compliance principles, solution sizing/configuration tools, enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF), and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Strong regional, cultural, and personal fit, with experience working across multicultural environments, willingness to travel within SAEM, strong English communication skills, and a customer-focused, strategic, collaborative, growth-oriented, and ethical mindset.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
