Requirements
· At least GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate or equivalent, or a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a similar role, including experience in disciplinary management.
· Excellent team-player who is organized, meticulous and with the ability to multi-task
· Core attribute: Calm under pressure while handling challenging situation with stakeholders (parents) and students
· Able to engage positively with children and support behavioral development
· Passionate about working children, particularly students with behaviours, disciplinary or social-emotional challenges
· Confident in managing challenging behaviours and handling difficult conversations
· Comfortable with restorative practices and case management processes
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in MS Office and Email and Google Tools
Job Description
The Student Management Support Officer (SMSO) supports the Student Management (ST)Team by carrying out groundwork and follow-up for student management cases. Key responsibilities include:
· Take student statements for incidents referred to the SM Team.
· Clarify student accounts by asking relevant follow-up questions to establish the facts and provide the SM Team with a clearer understanding of what happened.
· Facilitate reflection and processing during class suspension using the school’s CSI approach, guiding students to reflect on their actions, their impact on others and better choices moving forward.
· Supervise students carrying out service work as part of consequences determined by the SM Team.
· Facilitate simple apologies and reconciliation between students, where appropriate.
· Provide relevant information and observations to the SM Team to support their follow-up of cases.
· Complete Incident Report (IR) for each case and keep proper documentation of all incidents.
· Any other duties assigned by the Principal.
The SM Team will retain oversight of cases, including determining the classification of offences, deciding on appropriate consequences, and engaging parents where necessary.
