The posting

Lico Resources is partnering with a listed financial institution in Singapore that operates across complex, regulated financial products and services. As the organisation strengthens its tax operations infrastructure and expands its product and investor base across multiple jurisdictions, it is seeking an experienced tax operations professional to serve as the dedicated owner of end-to-end product tax operations.

This is a high-accountability role for someone who thrives at the intersection of regulatory compliance, operational process, and cross-functional collaboration — and who brings a strong command of international tax reporting regimes applicable to financial products and investor activity.

The Role

You will be the single point of accountability for product tax operations, covering US source income regimes, FATCA, CRS, IRC §871(m), and other applicable foreign jurisdiction requirements. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will work closely with Business, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams to ensure that tax obligations are met accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Your responsibilities will span four core areas:

Regulatory Monitoring & Assessment — Tracking tax regulatory developments across key jurisdictions including the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and India, assessing the impact of changes on existing processes, and advising business units accordingly. You will also evaluate new business processes for tax compliance and drive the design of workflows to meet evolving reporting obligations.

Filing & Reporting — Overseeing global tax reporting including US IRS Form 1042, FATCA and CRS self-certification and returns filing, and coordinating with members and account holders on tax status and documentation. You will also manage remediation outreach to address gaps in reporting obligations.

Data Integrity — Defining data rules and controls for source systems to ensure straight-through processing for annual filings, maintaining a tax-in-scope product and issuer register, and coordinating with Operations and Technology teams on automation and system fixes.

Launch & Change Gatekeeping — Operating the tax go/no-go gatekeeping process for new products and jurisdictions, and maintaining filing calendars, playbooks, and audit-ready documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Accountancy, Finance, Law, Taxation, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of tax operations experience within a financial institution
  • Strong working knowledge of US tax reporting regimes — FATCA, CRS, IRC §871(m), IRS Form 1042 — and cross-border tax compliance applicable to financial products
  • Experience advising operational and business teams on tax process design and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to assess regulatory changes and translate them into actionable operational outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across functions
  • Effective communicator with the confidence to engage internal teams, external members, and regulators

Advantageous

  • Prior experience in a listed financial institution, capital markets environment, or exchange-related business
  • Familiarity with QI (Qualified Intermediary) frameworks and related documentation requirements
  • Experience working with Technology teams on system automation or data integrity projects
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CA, CTA, or ATA

The Person

You are operationally sharp, regulatory-literate, and comfortable taking full ownership of a function. You approach compliance with rigour and documentation with discipline, while remaining pragmatic enough to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders. You can operate independently, drive matters to closure, and hold the line when it matters.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
