🕐 Working Hours

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Inclusive of 30-minute lunch break
  • No service required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

📋 Job Summary

The Teacher Aide will support teaching and learning activities in the school's Science Rooms. The role involves preparing Science lesson materials and equipment, maintaining Science Room resources, supporting practical activities, managing hydroponics systems and assisting teachers with Science-related programmes and events.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

Science Room & Resource Management

  • Support the procurement, organisation, maintenance and administration of Science Room resources.
  • Assist with purchasing required materials and equipment.
  • Conduct stocktaking of apparatus, materials and teaching resources.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and proper condition of Science Rooms and equipment.

Lesson & Practical Support

  • Prepare materials, apparatus and equipment for Science lessons.
  • Prepare resources for practical activities and experiments.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs of Science apparatus and equipment where appropriate.

Hydroponics Support

  • Maintain and care for the school's hydroponics systems.
  • Maintain related hydroponics equipment and ensure the systems are kept in proper working condition.

School Programmes & Activities

  • Assist teachers in preparing and conducting Science-related school programmes, activities and events.
  • Support activities at the Science Enrich Corner.
  • Ensure the Science Enrich Corner and its resources are clean, organised and well-maintained.
  • Perform other Science Room-related duties reasonably assigned by the school.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Able to manage Science Room resources and tasks systematically.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

💼 Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in a:Science RoomScience laboratorySimilar educational setting
  • At least 1 year of gardening experience, preferably involving hydroponics systems, is preferred.
  • A Diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
