Company / Role Overview A global organisation is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to support the reliability and day-to-day operational performance of its technology environment. The role covers production support, incident management, system monitoring, troubleshooting, operational process improvement and automation. You will work across Engineering, Product, Customer Support and Business Operations teams to resolve operational issues, improve processes and help maintain reliable systems and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the day-to-day operational performance and availability of systems and services, identifying and responding to operational issues and service disruptions.
  • Participate in an availability incident rotation and provide technical support to customer service engineers when required.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, coordinating with relevant teams during incidents and escalations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis following incidents and implement appropriate preventive actions.
  • Develop scripts and tools aimed at preventing recurring incidents and improving operational efficiency.
  • Review operational workflows and processes, identify inefficiencies and recommend opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support adherence to established operational processes.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and service metrics, analyse performance trends, risks and gaps, and prepare dashboards and management reporting.
  • Work with Engineering, Product, Customer Support and Business Operations stakeholders to provide technical support, operational guidance, status updates and recommendations.
  • Support operational risk management, security and policy compliance, including audit and governance activities where required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Technical Operations, IT Operations, System Support, Data Operations or a related role, including experience supporting large-scale production environments.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and operational monitoring tools.
  • Strong programming skills using technologies such as .NET, Java, Python or JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch or the ELK stack.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, including AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation using tools or languages such as Python, PowerShell or Shell scripting.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel or other data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile or DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
