KeyResponsibilities

• Technical Consultation & Advisory:Act as an expert advisor to client engineering teams, conducting site inspection,analysing failure modes, and providing tailored recommendations to optimizeefficiency and lower total cost of ownership.

• Relationship Building & AccountManagement: Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term advisor-clientrelationships across shipyards, vessel operators, mining sites, offshoreplatform contractors, and renewable energy EPCs.

• Cost-Effective Solution Engineering:Diagnose technical issues to specify high-performance, self-lubricating SBSbearings, bushings, and customized wear plates that maximize uptime and reduceoperating costs.

• Sales Target Execution & PipelineManagement: Own and drive the end-to-end sales process to achieve andexceed assigned annual sales targets, gross margin goals, and key performanceindicators (KPIs) through proactive pipeline generation and deal closure.

• Commercial Conversion & ValueSelling: Bridge the gap between engineering specifications and commercialterms by effectively articulating return on investment (ROI) and cost-benefitanalysis to decision-makers, successfully converting technical recommendationsinto signed purchase orders and recurring supply contracts.

• Application & Reverse EngineeringSupport: Partner closely with clients to offer reverse-engineeringsolutions, custom component dimensions, counter-surface recommendations, andupgrade proposals for OEM components prone to premature wear.

• Proposals & Tendering: Leadtechnical and commercial responses for RFPs, tenders, and custom manufacturingorders, presenting clear cost-benefit analyses, life-cycle efficiencyimprovements, and delivery timelines.

• Site Visits & Surveys: Performon-site or shipboard dimensional measurements, inspect worn equipment duringoverhauls, and advise on optimal bearing material selection.

• Market Expansion: Track sectordevelopments—including green shipping transitions, mining automation, andoffshore wind power innovations—to unlock new applications for SBStechnologies.

Qualifications& Skills

• Education: Degree or Diploma inMechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technicalfield (hands-on experience with sliding bearings, bushings, or tribology is astrong advantage).

• Experience: 3–5+ years of success inB2B technical sales, application engineering, or spare parts consulting within heavy industries (Marine/Offshore, Mining, Oil & Gas, or Renewables).

• Proven Sales Performance: Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding individual revenue and gross profit targets, with demonstrated ability to qualify leads, navigate long sales cycles, and close high-value B2B deals.

• Consultative Aptitude: Proven ability to build long-term advisory relationships, read engineering drawings/schematics, perform basic load/wear calculations, and articulate value/cost savings to technical stakeholders.

• Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated track record of managing complex technical sales cycles, negotiating commercial terms, and securing recurring supply agreements with key regional or global accounts.

• Problem-Solving Orientation: Passion for diagnosing mechanical failures, offering material upgrades, and delivering efficient, money-saving solutions through extended equipment life.

• Mobility: Willingness to travel regionally for shipyard visits, mine site evaluations, trade shows, and client consultation meetings.
