Role Overview:
Responsible for overseeing the technical management, maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of the Company’s oil tanker and bunker tanker fleet. The role ensures vessels comply with applicable regulatory, class, and company requirements while maintaining high standards of reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure vessels maintain the required technical standards, reliability, and operational performance.
- Maintain and ensure the timely updating, validity, and proper filing of vessel certificates and technical documentation.
- Effectively implement and monitor the Company’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Plan, coordinate, and manage class, statutory, flag state, and other vessel inspections and surveys.
- Plan, manage, and monitor dry-docking, repairs, maintenance, and technical improvement projects.
- Monitor vessel crew performance and provide technical guidance and support where required.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the technical budgets for assigned vessels.
- Ensure compliance with applicable maritime regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Seagoing experience on tankers as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer, holding at least Class 2 or Class 3 Certificate of Competency (COC); or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Technical Superintendent overseeing oil tankers and/or bunker tankers.
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and sense of responsibility.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
- Good technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
