Key Responsibilities

Mould Preparation: Clean, oil, or dust interior mould surfaces with dry clay to prevent sticking. Material Shaping: Knead clay, throw or press mixtures into moulds by hand, and scrape away excess material. Drying and Curing: Demould greenware carefully and transfer items to racks or kilns for drying and firing. Surface Installation (Modern Context): Prepare, level, and lay floor or wall tiles using adhesives, mortar, and precise alignment tools. Finishing: Grout joints, clean surfaces, and inspect finished pieces for cracks, flaws, or dimensional accuracy

Core Requirements

  • Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination for handling fragile raw clay and precise tile cutting.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long shifts, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of clay consistency, shrinkage rates during drying, and safe handling of hand and power tools.
  • Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to site safety rules, wearing protective gear, and working safely around kilns or heavy machinery
