The Role:

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Design Lead to own the UI/UX direction of our communication product.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will personally design key product experiences while setting the design standards that the wider team follows. You should be comfortable making independent design decisions, establishing a strong design foundation, reviewing the work of other designers, and providing clear direction when there are multiple possible approaches.

Our primary platform is iOS, so strong familiarity with Apple’s design language, interaction patterns, and platform conventions is essential. Experience designing for iPadOS, macOS, and larger-screen environments is highly valued.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own and define the overall UI/UX direction of the product.
  • Personally design key product flows, screens, interactions, and components in Figma.
  • Establish and maintain the product’s design system, including:

- Color system and semantic color usage

- Typography

- Spacing and layout principles

- Component library

- Component states and interaction behaviour

- Light and dark mode

- Icons and visual language

- Responsive and adaptive behaviour across screen sizes

  • Define clear design standards so that different parts of the product feel consistent and intentional.
  • Ensure the product follows strong iOS design principles while developing a distinctive product identity of its own.
  • Design and refine interaction flows, navigation, information architecture, and usability.
  • Think through complex communication-product interactions such as chat lists, conversations, message states, notifications, settings, media, loading states, empty states, offline behaviour, and other high-frequency user interactions.
  • Review the work of two other designers and provide clear, actionable design feedback.
  • Act as the design authority for the team and make final calls on UI consistency, patterns, and design direction where necessary.
  • Mentor designers and help improve the quality and consistency of theirwork.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and engineers from early explorationthrough implementation.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly and explain the reasoning behind them.
  • Review implemented features to ensure the final product accurately reflects the intended design.
  • Identify inconsistencies, weak interaction patterns, and opportunities to improve the product without requiring detailed direction from the Product team.
  • Continuously improve and evolve the design system as the product grows.

Job Requirements:

  • A Degree/Diploma in Business IT, Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Digital Design or related disciplines.
  • At least 7 years of product design, UI/UX design, or relevant experience.
  • Excellent understanding of iOS UI/UX patterns and Apple platform conventions.
  • Proven experience building or significantly contributing to a design system from the foundation up.
  • Strong experience designing polished consumer-facing digital products.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Figma, including components, variants, Auto Layout, design libraries, and scalable design-system practices.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color, spacing, hierarchy, layout, and visual consistency.
  • Strong knowledge of both light and dark mode design, including semantic color systems rather than simply creating visual inversions.
  • Strong UX fundamentals, including interaction design, information.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
