Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Utility Engineer to support ongoing engineering and operational activities for critical utility systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of critical utility systems, including:ChillersBoilersWater for Injection (WFI)Clean SteamOther GMP / critical utility systems
  • Lead and manage Change Control activities related to the installation, modification or upgrade of utility equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate engineering activities for new utility equipment, including implementation, commissioning and handover to operations.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause investigation for equipment failures, recurring issues and utility system performance problems.
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams on utility equipment and system-related issues.
  • Review equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, maintainability and operational efficiency.
  • Support engineering documentation, technical assessments, risk assessments and other project-related activities as required.
  • Ensure engineering activities are performed in accordance with applicable GMP, EHS and site requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or GMP manufacturing industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with critical utility systems such as Chillers, Boilers, WFI and Clean Steam.
  • Good understanding of the operation and maintenance of utility equipment.
  • Experience managing or supporting Change Control for engineering projects and equipment modifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex equipment or operational issues.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and project stakeholders.
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
