Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external ICT providers and vendors for technical management and support.
- Actively resolve IT operational issues onboard vessels and contribute technical expertise to various maritime IT projects.
- Ensure business continuity by maintaining stable and reliable vessel IT equipment, services, and satellite communications.
- Provide IT support and high-quality services across all managed vessels.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of systems, applications, and processes under the guidance of the Fleet IT Manager, identifying cybersecurity risks and management gaps.
- Collaborate openly with the Fleet IT Manager on the implementation of updated cybersecurity methods and policies.
- Install, test, maintain, and support all onboard hardware and applications.
- Build and maintain fleet-wide databases, ensuring documentation and system logs are up to date.
Requirements
- Practical knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring firewalls and managed switches.
- Experience in Windows Server administration, VMware, and virtualization environments.
- Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to support decision-making based on sound judgment.
- Clear, confident communication skills (both verbal and written) to ensure professionalism and reliability.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and travel when required.
- (Preferred but not mandatory) Experience in vessel IT application management, database administration, cybersecurity operations, incident management, and satellite communication systems (VSAT, L-Band, LEO).
Additional Note Candidates willing to perform onboard and hands-on tasks are highly preferred. However, we welcome applicants with solid practical experience in vessel IT operations.
