POSITION DESCRIPTION

VOLUNTEER IMPACT STRATEGIST

Role Overview

You will be a key architect of Tasek’s volunteer ecosystem, driving social change by mobilizing a diverse community of supporters for children, youth, and families. This mission-critical role involves building sustainable volunteer pipelines, enriching the service experience, and strategically deploying talent across our projects to maximize our collective impact on the neighborhoods we serve.

This position requires a motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to community service. Working under the guidance of programme leads and senior leadership, the incumbent will align volunteer engagement with Tasek’s strategic goals, ensuring that community contributions effectively support the transformation of lives within the service neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities

A. Expanding the Network — Strategic Recruitment and Outreach

  • Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies and campaigns to attract volunteers from diverse demographics, including students, professionals, retirees, and corporate groups.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with educational institutions, corporate partners, grassroots organisations, and community agencies to ensure a consistent volunteer pipeline.
  • Act as the primary representative for Tasek’s volunteer programme at recruitment fairs, community forums, and outreach events to promote service opportunities and organisational missions.

B. Cultivating Commitment — Volunteer Engagement and Development

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding and training process to ensure volunteers are properly oriented, equipped with necessary skills, and aligned with the organisation’s values.
  • Implement volunteer retention initiatives, including formal appreciation events, recognition programmes, and regular communication channels to maintain high levels of engagement and commitment.
  • Establish leadership development pathways to transition experienced volunteers into roles such as senior befrienders and volunteer team leads.
  • Conduct regular volunteer feedback exercises, including surveys and performance reviews, to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall volunteer experience.

C. Driving Community Impact — Programme and Project Coordination

  • Optimise volunteer allocation by matching skills and availability to specific needs across Tasek’s children, youth, sports, and community programmes.
  • Collaborate with programme leads to conduct manpower planning, define volunteer roles, and ensure adequate coverage for all scheduled activities and special projects.
  • Coordinate volunteer-led initiatives, such as workshops, community carnivals, and befriending activities, to foster community cohesion and achieve programme objectives.

D. Excellence in Stewardship — Volunteer Administration and Systems

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate administrative records, including volunteer databases, attendance logs, training records, and deployment rosters.
  • Enforce compliance with organisational policies, including codes of conduct, confidentiality agreements, and required screening or background check procedures.
  • Oversee volunteer safety by conducting Risk Assessment Management System (RAMS) briefings and ensuring adherence to safety protocols during all supported activities.

E. Championing the Cause — Impact Measurement and Storytelling

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including volunteer participation rates, total service hours, and retention metrics, for management and funding reporting.
  • Document and communicate the impact of volunteer contributions through formal reports, newsletters, and social media platforms to enhance stakeholder awareness and attract further support.

F. Such Other Duties as Management May Assign

  • Support the planning and implementation of safety measures for programmes and activities, including preparing and reviewing Risk Assessment Management System (RAMS) documents, conducting safety briefings, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency preparedness measures such as fire drills, evacuation exercises, and incident reporting to promote a safe environment for participants, staff, community facilitators and volunteers.
  • Undertake any other roles, duties, or responsibilities as designated by management from time to time, whether or not specifically enumerated in this position description.

Requirements

G. Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field; candidates with equivalent hands-on experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or the social sector are welcome.
  • Prior experience in volunteer management, community organising, events coordination, or stakeholder engagement will be an advantage.

H. Skills and Attributes

  • Strong commitment to volunteerism and community development with the ability to motivate others toward a common goal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in public speaking and individual stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated organisational and coordination abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects and volunteer teams effectively.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; familiarity with volunteer management systems or CRM tools is a plus.

Work Schedule

This role does not operate on a fixed schedule. The incumbent is expected to work across weekends and evenings as required by programme delivery, volunteer activities, events, and organisational needs. Work patterns will vary depending on the volunteer calendar, events, and operational demands.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
