Job Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements at the data centre project site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and safety observations to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation, project safety requirements and client safety standards.
  • Prepare, review and monitor Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineers, Supervisors, Contractors and Subcontractors to ensure safe work practices are properly implemented.
  • Monitor high-risk activities, including lifting operations, work at height, confined space, excavation, hot works, electrical works and heavy equipment operations.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor safety controls for MEP installation, electrical systems, mechanical systems, generators, switchboards, cable works and other critical data centre infrastructure works.
  • Ensure proper control of temporary electrical supplies, energised equipment, electrical isolation and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements.
  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors for compliance with approved safety procedures, risk controls and project safety requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and site safety inductions where required.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including fire emergencies, electrical incidents, evacuation, medical emergencies and emergency response drills.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, and prepare investigation reports and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain proper WSH records, including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, permits and other required safety documentation.
  • Participate in WSH meetings, coordination meetings and client safety meetings.
  • Liaise with the client, main contractor, subcontractors and relevant authorities on WSH matters when required.
  • Ensure workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with site safety requirements.
  • Monitor and report safety performance to the Project Manager and management.
  • Perform other WSH-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B)
  • Must possess an Manage Work at Height Cert
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant WSH experience, preferably in construction, MEP or data centre projects.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation, regulations and construction safety requirements.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical and MEP construction activities.
  • Good knowledge of high-risk work controls, emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, technically complex and critical-environment projects will be an advantage.
  • Candidates with experience in data centre construction, fit-out, testing and commissioning will be highly advantageous.
