Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements at the project site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations and safety audits.
- Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing and monitoring Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Method Statements.
- Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with WSH regulations, company procedures and project safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and safety inductions.
- Monitor high-risk activities and ensure proper safety control measures are implemented.
- Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements for applicable activities.
- Follow up on safety observations, non-conformities and corrective/preventive actions.
- Assist in incident, accident and near-miss investigations and prepare safety reports.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, safety meetings, training, incidents and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, workers and subcontractors on WSH matters.
- Participate in emergency preparedness, drills and safety campaigns.
- Attend WSH meetings and assist in implementing the project's Safety Management System.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, access control, barricading and safe worksite conditions.
- Liaise with relevant parties during WSH inspections, audits and regulatory visits.
- Promote a strong safety culture and encourage workers to follow safe working practices.
- Perform any other WSH-related duties assigned by the management.
Requirements
- Must possess an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
- Must possess a valid Manage Work at Height certificate.
- Must possess a valid Risk Management (BizSAFE Level 2) certificate.
- Additional relevant WSH / safety-related certifications will be an advantage.
- Relevant experience in civil infrastructure, or construction projects will be an advantage.
- Good communication, coordination, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Able to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, consultants, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Immediate availability / short-notice candidates will be an advantage.
