Gardens and grounds will be your main focus, alongside general maintenance and village upkeep. From caring for landscaped areas to attending to a minor repair, you’ll help residents enjoy safe, welcoming and well-maintained surroundings.

What You Will Be Working On You’ll spend much of your time maintaining gardens, lawns and landscaped areas, while also helping care for shared facilities and outdoor spaces. Your key priorities will include:
Maintaining lawns and gardens through planting, pruning, watering, mulching and monitoring plant health. Planning and completing garden maintenance requests, responding promptly to urgent or safety-related issues. Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the village. Keeping pathways, patios, verandas, barbeque areas, outdoor furniture and external windows clean and welcoming. Supporting waste management and bin upkeep, and inspecting equipment and common areas. Operating and maintaining tools safely, following WHS procedures and reporting hazards. Listening to residents, communicating respectfully and escalating concerns when needed.
What Type Of Person Will Be Successful You take pride in practical work and notice the details that keep a place looking good. You’re comfortable working independently, can prioritise competing tasks and enjoy friendly interactions with residents. You’ll bring:
At least one year of experience in gardening or grounds maintenance. Practical maintenance skills and a hands-on approach to minor repairs. A customer-focused manner and clear communication skills. The ability to safely carry out physical tasks, including lifting or moving items up to 15 kilograms. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. The ability to work consistently onsite to support village and resident needs.
Experience in retirement living, land lease communities or similar settings would be helpful. An appropriate driver’s licence and the ability or willingness to drive a 12-seater bus, if required, would also be valued.
