As a Vice President of Government Affairs, you will be responsible for the following:
Manages TFCU’s Government Affairs function and is accountable for developing, recommending, and executing the organization’s legislative, regulatory, and political engagement strategy. Evaluates emerging public policy developments, advises leadership regarding organizational risks and opportunities, and manages the relationships, programs, resources, and external partners necessary to advance TFCU’s approved advocacy priorities.
Salary Range: This is an exempt position. The starting salary range is $161,544-$201,930; however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity. Schedule: Normally works a weekday schedule, but may be required to work evenings, holidays, or weekends. Required to travel, including overnight travel, with or without advance notice Education/Experience: You must have a bachelor's degree in government, business, public policy, political science, or a related field.
At least six years of progressively responsible experience in government affairs, lobbying, legislative affairs, regulatory policy, or public policy management is required, including experience managing significant programs, external partners, or cross-functional initiatives. Experience advising senior leadership and representing an organization before elected officials, regulators, or industry associations is required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority. Valid driver’s license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. Registered federal lobbyist, or ability to register under the Lobbying Disclosure Act within 90 days of hire, is required. Ability and willingness to register as an Oklahoma state lobbyist is also required.
Keys to success: In order to be successful as a Vice President of Government Affairs you must possess these qualifications:
Ability to translate complex legislative and regulatory developments into concise organizational impact assessments and actionable recommendations. Ability to manage budgets, contracts, consultants, vendors, and multiple concurrent advocacy initiatives. Ability to exercise judgment and represent TFCU’s approved positions within established executive direction and delegated authority. Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and lead cross-functional work without direct reporting authority. Advanced knowledge of lobbying, ethics, disclosure, campaign-finance, PAC, and related compliance requirements. Ability to develop executive and board-level briefings regarding legislative, regulatory, and political developments. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with national and state leaders, internal and external stakeholders, and employees at all organizational levels. Ability and willingness to travel for work assignments, including out-of-state travel, which may occur as frequently as quarterly or more often depending on business needs, and to work varied hours as needed. Proficiency in financial services, business, and project management software.
