Principal Software Engineer in Test — C#.NET Distributed Systems

Hyderabad, India | Hybrid — 3 days onsite

Role Overview

Nasuni is expanding the DryvIQ engineering team in Hyderabad. DryvIQ brings intelligent content discovery, classification, sensitivity detection, and policy-driven governance to enterprise unstructured data across cloud and on-premises repositories.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead the evolution of test automation architecture and engineering quality across Nasuni's DryvIQ Kubernetes-based distributed application environment.

This is a hands-on principal engineering role with C#/.NET as the primary automation development stack. You will own critical architectural decisions, modernize and scale established automation frameworks, and establish engineering practices that improve reliability, testability, and release confidence across teams.

We're looking for someone who can combine deep software engineering expertise with sound technical judgment and the ability to influence others. You do not need to have built an automation framework from scratch. What matters is demonstrated ownership of complex automation systems and measurable improvements to their architecture, scalability, and effectiveness.

What You'll Do

  • Own the technical direction and architecture of established C#/.NET automation frameworks, improving scalability, reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.
  • Design and implement reusable test libraries, API clients, fixtures, test-data capabilities, diagnostics, and shared automation infrastructure.
  • Define risk-based testing strategies across APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing, integrations, system workflows, and end-to-end scenarios.
  • Establish automated validation for Kubernetes-based distributed applications, including deployments, upgrades, service dependencies, recovery, concurrency, and failure scenarios.
  • Lead test architecture reviews and influence product designs to improve observability, testability, and defect prevention.
  • Partner with Engineering and DevOps to strengthen CI/CD quality gates, execution parallelism, environment reliability, and actionable release feedback.
  • Lead root-cause investigations of difficult cross-system failures using logs, metrics, traces, Kubernetes evidence, and application behavior.
  • Drive improvements in flaky-test reduction, coverage of critical product risks, test execution performance, and diagnostic effectiveness.
  • Establish reusable engineering patterns and help other teams adopt them through code reviews, pairing, technical guidance, and collaboration.
  • Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test design, code development, debugging, and analysis, independently validating correctness, security, and suitability.
  • Develop robust validation approaches for AI-enabled or non-deterministic product behavior, where applicable.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 9+ years overall Software Engineering Experience with a a focus on QA Automation and Tools Engineering.
  • Deep hands-on programming and automation development expertise in C# and .NET.
  • Proven experience owning significant architectural improvements to established automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software design, reusable components, asynchronous programming, debugging, and maintainable test-code architecture.
  • Hands-on experience validating Kubernetes-based, containerized, distributed applications, including microservices and asynchronous workflows.
  • Experience designing automated API, integration, system, and end-to-end testing with sound judgment about appropriate testing layers.
  • Experience improving CI/CD automation reliability, execution efficiency, test infrastructure, and engineering quality feedback.
  • Advanced root-cause analysis skills using logs, metrics, Kubernetes/container evidence, APIs, and system diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, including influencing engineering decisions, establishing standards, and mentoring engineers.

Preferred

  • Python/PyTest experience, especially reusable utilities, tooling, fixtures, or shared libraries.
  • AWS or Azure, including EKS, AKS, or comparable Kubernetes environments.
  • Enterprise connectors, SMB/NFS, S3, Azure Blob, or cloud/on-premises data integrations.
  • Experience with performance, resilience, fault-injection, or failure-recovery testing.
  • Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or comparable UI automation tools.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering workflows with disciplined validation.

Ideal

  • Experience leading automation modernization for a complex enterprise SaaS product.
  • Demonstrated cross-team adoption of automation frameworks or engineering standards.
  • Experience with enterprise storage, content management, data governance, or security platforms.
  • Experience validating AI-enabled classification, sensitive-data detection, or other non-deterministic functionality.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
