We are seeking innovative and empowering tutors to join the Engaging with the World team, delivering high-quality programmes for young people with a range of disabilities and support needs. The students within Engaging with the World require a personalised curriculum that responds to and adapts to the needs of autistic students, students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), and students with multi-sensory impairments (MSI). You can find out more about our learning pathways on our website as below: Learn with us at National Star These students are recognised as individuals who bring their unique strengths, communication styles, and presence to the world, who live with profound intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments, thriving from consistent, holistic support across their daily lives. With an understanding of entry level one, post 16 curriculum that prepares young people for life after college, you will have experience of planning and delivering person-centred lessons that meet the needs of the learners within the Engaging with the World pathway. You will hold a relevant teaching qualification, and we would be especially keen to hear from you if you have experience delivering a curriculum for: Digital Literacy/ Digital Technology, Relationship and Sex Education, Social Enterprise within a SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) environment. Your assessment of starting points, teaching that supports young people to develop their skills, knowledge and experience for the wider world, as well as recognition and recording of progress, will meet required professional standards and ensure high-quality provision for the students. It goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking. You will need to build positive relationships with students by actively listening, respecting and responding to learner voice, possess excellent team working skills to successfully collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to maximise learning. This encompasses the development of independence/ interdependence skills and the learners’ wellbeing to enable students to achieve their personalised, aspirational outcomes.
