Audio Engineer – Guarantee Level

Deliver world-class sound for major live broadcasts

At NEP UK, we deliver the people, technology and expertise behind some of the UK’s biggest sporting, entertainment and broadcast productions, including Premier League football, Wimbledon, The Grand National and major entertainment programmes.

We are looking for an experienced Audio Engineer (Guarantee-level) to join our Audio team. This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of audio delivery on major live productions, working across NEP’s outside broadcast fleet, flypacks and remote production environments.

You will lead the preparation, configuration and operation of complex broadcast audio systems, while working alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead audio delivery on assigned outside broadcasts and live productions.
  • Prepare, configure, test and operate broadcast audio systems.
  • Manage consoles, stageboxes, routing, communications, monitoring and audio networks.
  • Interpret client and production requirements and deliver reliable technical solutions.
  • Fault-find and resolve technical issues quickly during live broadcasts.
  • Work closely with Vision, VT, Camera, Engineering and Production teams.
  • Maintain technical documentation and configuration records.
  • Contribute to system upgrades, technical improvements and new technology deployments.
  • Support and mentor Audio Assistants and Audio Engineers.

About you

You will be an experienced broadcast audio professional with the confidence and judgement to lead audio delivery independently.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience as an Audio Engineer in outside broadcast, live production or a broadcast facility.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast audio workflows, signal flow and routing.
  • Experience operating broadcast audio consoles and complex audio systems.
  • Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills in live production environments.
  • Knowledge of audio networking technologies such as Dante, AES67 or ST 2110-30.
  • The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • An interest in supporting the development of others.

Experience with systems from manufacturers such as Calrec, Lawo, Riedel, RTS and Yamaha would be beneficial, but we are particularly interested in your technical capability, live production experience and willingness to continue learning.

How you’ll work the NEP Way

We are Reliable, Ethical, Innovative and One Team. You will be expected to collaborate openly, communicate clearly, use your initiative to solve problems and plan ahead to deliver consistently high standards for our clients and colleagues.

Why join NEP?

  • Work on some of the UK’s most recognised live sporting and entertainment productions.
  • Take ownership of audio delivery on major broadcasts.
  • Work with advanced broadcast audio technology, including IP-based systems and remote production workflows.
  • Develop your career with a clear pathway towards Senior Audio Engineer and Lead Engineering roles.
  • Join a highly experienced and supportive team of broadcast professionals.

Success in this role means becoming a trusted technical specialist who can independently deliver complex audio solutions and provide confidence to clients, production teams and colleagues throughout a live broadcast.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
