We foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture where curiosity is encouraged, diverse perspectives are valued, and employees are empowered to make a meaningful impact. Whether you're building products, serving customers, or supporting the business, your work helps shape the future of one of the world's most trusted legal technology platforms.

If you're excited to solve meaningful challenges, work alongside talented colleagues, and help define the next generation of legal technology, we'd love to meet you.

You will:

Deep Technical Execution

  • Serve as the primary hands-on builder for the most complex platform and tooling problems the DevX team takes on.
  • Drive complex, high-impact projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.
  • Balance architectural ideals against delivery timelines and team maturity, making pragmatic tradeoffs.
  • Architecture & Technical Influence
  • Shape and constructively challenge technical direction across the team, offering credible alternatives grounded in hands-on experience.
  • Partner with the Principal Software Engineer on architecture and build-vs-buy recommendations, bringing an independent technical perspective.
  • Reinforce shared technical standards and patterns established for tooling adopted company-wide.

Cross-Team Technical Credibility & Hiring

  • Build direct technical trust and relationships with other engineering teams, independent of the Principal's relationship.
  • Travel occasionally to the US (approximately 1–2 weeks per year) to deepen technical collaboration with US engineering leadership.
  • Participate in interviews and technical evaluation for Senior engineering candidates.
  • Mentorship & Team Standards
  • Mentor and raise the technical bar for the team, day-to-day.
  • Lead by example in design and code reviews, reinforcing best practices in tooling and platform engineering.
  • Communicate technical decisions and standards through design docs, Architecture Decision Reviews, and reviews that build buy-in across the team.

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, currently operating at the Staff level.
  • Deep hands-on experience building internal developer tooling, CI/CD systems, or platform engineering at scale.
  • Strong fluency across C#, .NET, Python, AWS, and Java.
  • Experience shaping technical direction and influencing other engineers without formal management authority.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards across a team.
  • Experience participating in technical hiring and interviews.
  • Strong technical judgment, balancing architectural ideals against delivery timelines and team maturity.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience building trust and credibility with distributed engineering teams.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Prior experience as a Staff-level engineer on a Platform or Developer Experience team.
  • Experience acting as a technical bridge between distributed, cross-country engineering teams.
  • Experience in legal technology, professional-services SaaS, or other regulated enterprise software environments.
  • Public examples of technical leadership: conference speaking, technical writing, open-source contributions, or patterns adopted by other teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
