Als Lead Reinforcement Learning Engineer definierst und gestaltest du die Strategie von NEURA Robotics für lernbasierte Steuerungssysteme von humanoiden Robotern. Du führst ein Team aus Reinforcement-Learning-Ingenieur:innen und Forschenden und treibst die Entwicklung der nächsten Generation von Lokomotions-, Manipulations- und Ganzkörpersteuerungen für unsere humanoide Plattform 4NE1 voran.

Du bringst neueste Forschungsergebnisse in robuste, produktionsreife Systeme und ermöglichst damit autonome, anpassungsfähige und kommerziell einsetzbare humanoide Roboter. Gemeinsam mit unseren Führungskräften sowie Teams aus Produktentwicklung, Controls, Perception und Hardware prägst du die Zukunft der kognitiven Robotik.

DEINE MISSION & HERAUSFORDERUNGEN

- Du definierst und verantwortest die technologische Roadmap für lernbasierte Verhaltenssteuerungen von humanoiden Robotern, von Reinforcement Learning und Imitation Learning bis hin zu Robotics Foundation Models.

- Du leitest die Entwicklung und den produktiven Einsatz fortschrittlicher Steuerungssysteme für Lokomotion, Loco-Manipulation und Ganzkörperbewegungen auf der 4NE1-Plattform.

- Du etablierst skalierbare Prozesse, Frameworks und Qualitätsstandards für das Training, die Validierung und den Betrieb lernbasierter Robotersysteme.

- Du evaluierst moderne Ansätze wie Reinforcement Learning, Offline Learning, Teleoperation, Motion Tracking und Foundation Models und überführst diese in industrielle Anwendungen.

- Du transformierst aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse in leistungsfähige und kundenrelevante Robotiklösungen.

- Du verantwortest Sim-to-Real-Strategien durch Domain Randomization, System Identification, Physik-Kalibrierung, Aktuatormodellierung und Sensorabstimmung.

- Du stellst sicher, dass trainierte Policies zuverlässig, sicher und performant auf realer humanoider Hardware eingesetzt werden können.

- Du baust ein leistungsstarkes Team aus Reinforcement-Learning-Ingenieur:innen und Robotikexpert:innen auf, entwickelst es weiter und förderst Innovation sowie technische Exzellenz.

- Du coachst und unterstützt Teammitglieder fachlich und schaffst eine Kultur geprägt von Ownership, Zusammenarbeit und wissenschaftlicher Präzision.

- Du arbeitest eng mit den Teams aus Controls, Perception, Platform, Software und Hardware zusammen, um lernbasierte Technologien nahtlos in unsere Robotiksysteme zu integrieren.

- Du richtest Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaktivitäten an Produktzielen, Unternehmensstrategie und geschäftlichen Anforderungen aus.

- Du begleitest Projekte von der ersten Idee bis zum erfolgreichen Einsatz beim Kunden und definierst klare Erfolgskennzahlen.

- Du sorgst dafür, dass entwickelte Lösungen skalierbar, wartbar und für die nächste Generation humanoider Roboter bereit sind.

AUF WAS KÖNNEN WIR UNS FREUEN

- Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Masterstudium oder Promotion in Robotik, Informatik, Machine Learning, Künstlicher Intelligenz oder einem vergleichbaren Fachgebiet.

- Mindestens 8 Jahre Berufserfahrung in den Bereichen Robotik, Reinforcement Learning oder Machine Learning, davon mehrere Jahre in einer technischen Führungsrolle.

- Nachweisbare Erfolge bei der Entwicklung und dem produktiven Einsatz lernbasierter Robotersysteme.

- Erfahrung in der fachlichen Führung interdisziplinärer Forschungs- und Entwicklungsteams.

- Ausgeprägte Kommunikations- und Stakeholder-Management-Skills.

- Leidenschaft für Mentoring sowie den Aufbau und die Weiterentwicklung erstklassiger Engineering-Teams.

- Hohe Eigenverantwortung und die Fähigkeit, anspruchsvolle Projekte erfolgreich zum Abschluss zu bringen.

- Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift; Deutschkenntnisse sind ein großes Plus.
