Wahrnehmung ist der Ausgangspunkt für die Intelligenz eines Roboters. In unserem AI/Perception-Team arbeitest du an den Algorithmen, die rohe Kamera-, Tiefen- und Kraftdaten in etwas verwandeln, mit dem ein Roboter arbeiten kann — Objekte erkennen und tracken, 3D-Szenen rekonstruieren und Sensoren zu einem kohärenten Bild der Welt fusionieren, schnell genug, um in Echtzeit relevant zu sein. Unsere Roboter sind dafür gebaut, Seite an Seite mit Menschen in Umgebungen zu arbeiten, die sich ständig verändern — das ist also keine Benchmark-Arbeit: Deine Modelle laufen auf echter Hardware, neben echten Menschen, und müssen auch bei schlechtem Licht und sich mitten in der Aufgabe verändernden Szenen zuverlässig funktionieren. Du arbeitest eng mit Software-, Hardware- und Produktteams zusammen und siehst, wie deine Arbeit in unseren Produkten landet. Wenn du dein Praktikum mit Perception-Problemen verbringen willst, für die es noch keine sauberen Lösungen gibt, bist du hier richtig.

DEINE MISSION & HERAUSFORDERUNGEN

Wir suchen einen motivierten und talentierten Robotic Perception Intern für unser AI/Perception-Team. Dieses Praktikum gibt dir praktische Erfahrung dabei, unseren Robotern zu helfen, dynamische, gemeinsam genutzte Arbeitsräume zu sehen, zu verstehen und mit ihnen zu interagieren. Du arbeitest an Deep-Learning-Perception-Modellen und Teilen des Sensor-Fusion- und Perception-Stacks für unsere kollaborativen Roboterarme.

Du trägst zu Bereichen bei wie:

- Perception Pipeline: Arbeit an Modulen entlang des gesamten Perception-Pfads — von rohen Sensordaten (RGB- und Tiefenkameras, Force/Torque, Gelenksensoren) über Sensor Fusion, Objekterkennung und -tracking, 3D-Rekonstruktion und Scene Understanding — um die Workspace-Modelle mitzugestalten, auf die sich unsere Arme für Grasp Planning, Manipulation und sichere Interaktion mit den Menschen nebenan verlassen.

- Deep Learning für Perception: Neuronale Netze für Perception-Aufgaben (z. B. Object Recognition, Detection, Tracking) implementieren, trainieren und fine-tunen sowie deren Deployment auf dem Roboter unterstützen.

- Computer Vision & 3D: Computer-Vision-Algorithmen für den Echtzeiteinsatz entwickeln und optimieren, inklusive klassischer Vision (OpenCV), 3D-Geometrie und Point-Cloud-Processing.

- Echtzeit-Software: Perception-Software in Python und modernem C++ implementieren, mit GPU-Beschleunigung dort, wo es zählt.

WAS DU MITBRINGST

- Ausbildung: Aktuell im Studium oder kürzlich abgeschlossenes Studium in Computer Science, Robotik, Elektrotechnik oder einem verwandten Feld

- Programmierkenntnisse: Kenntnisse in Programmiersprachen wie Python oder C++

- AI-Frameworks: Vertrautheit mit AI-Frameworks und -Bibliotheken (z. B. PyTorch, TensorFlow)

- ML- & CV-Grundlagen: Verständnis von Machine-Learning- und Computer-Vision-Konzepten und -Techniken

- Perception-Erfahrung: Interesse an oder Erfahrung mit Robot Perception: RGB-D-Kameras / Force-Torque-Sensing, OpenCV, 3D-Geometrie oder Sensor Fusion (akademische Projekte, Kursarbeit oder eigene Projekte willkommen)

- Mindset: Ausgeprägte Problemlösungs- und Analysefähigkeiten

- Kommunikation: Deine Kommunikationsfähigkeiten zeichnen dich aus

- Sprache: Du beherrschst die englische Sprache perfekt
