New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Corrosion Technician II to design, coordinate, maintain, and monitor cathodic protection systems for distribution mains and services in accordance with company policies and applicable federal regulations. Ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and the timely and accurate maintenance of cathodic protection records and documentation. Major Responsibilities:
Monitor cathodically protected gas distribution mains and services to ensure the effectiveness of corrosion control programs and compliance with company standards and federal regulations. Inspect, troubleshoot, and coordinate the repair of damaged or malfunctioning cathodic protection system components, including diagnosing shorts, breaks, and other system deficiencies. Assist in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of cathodic protection equipment, including rectifiers, test stations, bonds, and anodes. Evaluate cathodic protection system performance and recommend corrective actions to maintain the integrity of steel distribution facilities. Prepare and maintain accurate system records, inspection documentation, and regulatory reports. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for submission to regulatory agencies, including the BPU. Coordinate and obtain construction permits from state, county, and municipal agencies as required for corrosion control and cathodic protection projects. Provide technical support and field assistance to Corrosion Engineers, Corrosion Technicians, and other operations personnel. Support corrosion control initiatives and special projects that contribute to the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the gas distribution system. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related field preferred. Relevant combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in cathodic protection, corrosion control, utility operations, or a related technical field. Experience with natural gas distribution systems is preferred. AMPP (formerly NACE) certification or related cathodic protection credentials preferred. Working knowledge of cathodic protection principles, corrosion control practices, and applicable pipeline safety regulations. Familiarity with natural gas distribution systems and associated safety requirements, including an understanding of the hazards of natural gas. Proficiency with GIS/GPS technology and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel; experience with ESRI ArcGIS preferred. Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, maps, and technical documents. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both office and field environments. Must meet Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements as defined under 49 CFR Part 192, Subpart N. Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.

Position Location: Onsite Other Details: Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $59,000- $79,500.Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
