Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute merchandising and category plans, including assortment, pricing, promotions, advertising, product launches, and go-to-market programs in partnership with Marketing, to drive revenue, margin, and category growth.
  • Manage merchandising execution across external channels, including pricing, promotion, and website exposure.
  • Monitor category P&L and key performance metrics and provide recommendations on pricing, margin, promotions, inventory investment, and business growth opportunities.
  • Identify, source, and onboard new products, brands, and vendors to support Newegg’s product expansion strategy, including business cases based on revenue potential, margin opportunity, customer demand, competitive positioning, and inventory risk, and applicable contract, compliance, operational, and product information requirements.
  • Work with existing vendors to expand product selection, improve pricing competitiveness, strengthen product availability, and identify incremental business opportunities.
  • Lead vendor negotiations for product costs, promotional support, rebates, funding, assortment expansion, and other commercial terms within assigned categories.
  • Manage and optimize MDF, Co-op, rebates, promotional funding, and other vendor incentives for assigned vendors, ensuring accurate tracking, effective utilization, and performance against established targets and forecasts.
  • Maintain ongoing market and competitive intelligence, including competitor and external-channel listings at the item level — price movement, buy-box position, promotion cadence, and review sentiment — to identify merchandising, sourcing, and assortment opportunities.
  • Monitor shopper behavior on product listings, including traffic, conversion, cart abandonment, reviews, and Q&A, and adjust listing content, pricing, and promotion accordingly.
  • Flag pricing or content gaps for action or escalation to the Category Manager or Domain Head.
  • Develop and support sales, demand, and inventory forecasts in partnership with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to maintain healthy inventory levels and reduce out-of-stock, overstock, aging inventory, and supply issues.
  • Maintain merchandising reporting and provide regular business updates, performance insights, risks, and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, and other teams to resolve business issues and execute category initiatives.
  • At the Senior Merchandise Manager level, provide guidance and support to Merchandise Managers and other junior merchandising team members on vendor management, merchandising execution, analytics, and business processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in merchandising, buying, category management, sourcing, procurement, or a related function within an IT e-commerce, retail, or consumer electronics environment.
  • Product knowledge within assigned categories is preferred; experience with consumer electronics, computer hardware, PC components, or related technology products is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising, pricing, promotional, and category management principles in an e-commerce environment, including digital marketing and retail marketing programs.
  • 1+ year of experience managing vendor P&L, MDF and Co-op accounts, and vendor incentive utilization, with a strong understanding of vendor programs, commercial terms, and key merchandising and financial metrics such as product cost, rebates, promotional funding, gross margin, inventory turnover, and promotional ROI.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product assortment, pricing, promotions, inventory performance, and vendor relationships, including product sourcing, vendor identification, supplier evaluation, new product introduction, and assortment expansion.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive long-term vendor partnerships.
  • Working knowledge of external marketplace and channel operations, including listing content, pricing, buy-box dynamics, and promotional tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate internal performance, market trends, competitive activity, and customer demand and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, or working knowledge of SQL, is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to influence vendors and cross-functional teams; results-oriented with strong attention to detail and business judgment in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
  • Experience providing guidance, coaching, or day-to-day support to junior merchandising team members is preferred and expected at the Senior Merchandise Manager level.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
