About NewWorld

NewWorld is building the opposite of the doomscroll. We are a media company making original series about the choices that govern our lives, for the people politics stopped talking to. We have also pioneered a new model for creator-led strategic communications.

About the role

This role sits in the Office of the CEO and spans marketing, partnerships, and innovation. They are different disciplines, but they answer one question — how do we connect our many into a story of a high-growth, innovative media business positioned to scale our value and impact? ?

On marketing, you own how we talk about our work in the world, and how we turn that into momentum for business development. Every show gets a launch plan that covers who needs to see it, the traditional media angle, and how it moves on social, mapped from the beginning of a project to the end. Across both shows and command centers, you make sure every project produces an excellent case study, and that those case studies are constantly folded back into our business development materials.

On partnerships, you build the relationships that make shows and command centers succeed, with entertainment companies, creator companies, and more. Your role is co-designing and then launching a new program that has the legs to grow into a core function with a dedicated team across the next 18 months.

What you'll do

Marketing

  • Own how NewWorld talks about its work in the world, and turn that visibility into momentum for business development
  • Build a launch plan for every show—the audience who needs to see it, the traditional media angle, the social strategy—mapped start to finish
  • Make sure every project, show or command center, produces an excellent case study
  • Fold those case studies constantly into business development materials, so the pitch is always current

Partnerships

  • Build a pathway to content development partnerships with entertainment companies, creator companies, and organizations that drive revenue and our cultural reach
  • Connect our work to studios with an eye toward acquisition and monetization of our IP (titles, franchises, formats)
  • Get our story and work in front of partners who manage and advise the talent we need to be successful, both on screen and off

Innovation

  • Keep NewWorld on the cutting edge of conversations about AI in the industry, leveraging our unique approach to AI integration in development, production, distribution, and monetization in media to emerge as a key driver of value for the business

What you bring

8+ years across marketing, partnerships, business development, or strategy, ideally spanning more than one of those disciplines.

  • A track record launching work into the world and earning it real attention, across both traditional media and social
  • Experience building partnerships that led somewhere concrete, such as talent secured, distribution won, or revenue earned
  • Fluency with creator ecosystems and how entertainment, brand, and media companies actually make deals
  • A habit of turning finished work into case studies and sales material that win the next project
  • Genuine early adoption of new technology, especially AI, with clear judgment about what is useful and what is noise
  • Excellent writing and synthesis, and the credibility to represent NewWorld to senior external partners
  • Experience in an early-stage or fast-moving environment where you built the function rather than inherited it

Who you are

  • You’re entrepreneurial and self-directed, comfortable owning a remit no one at NewWorld has run before
  • You’re as interested in the deal as in the craft, and you can speak credibly about both
  • You’re restlessly curious about new tools and technology, with the judgment to separate what matters from what’s merely new
  • You’re a strong external representative of the company, warm and direct with senior partners
  • You can hold marketing, partnerships, and innovation in parallel without letting any one of them go quiet, and you’re driven by NewWorld’s mission and the audiences we exist to reach

Compensation and benefits

The pay range is $12,000–$15,000 per month and is set by working days and experience. Compensation is competitive with current market rates for comparable roles in media and communications. The role is remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in New York, Toronto, or Los Angeles, and the option to work from our New York office.

Equal opportunity

Equity is at the heart of NewWorld. From the clients we partner with and vendors we engage, to the team we’re building, we are committed to creating opportunities for the diverse community of talented, creative professionals who have been systematically denied opportunities across the professional communications industry. Women, people of color, LGBTI people, people of any religion or nationality and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Opportunities for advancement exist, and NewWorld is committed to helping all staff develop and grow. The pay range is $12,000–$15,000 per month and is set by working days and experience. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
