The posting

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Senior Technical Designer partners across Design, Product Management, Materials, Trims, Sourcing, product creation teams, and factories. Together, these teams turn creative vision into technically sound men’s tennis performance and lifestyle apparel, aligning product development, fit, construction, manufacturability, and athlete and consumer needs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is looking for an experienced technical designer who can translate design intent into proven, production-ready apparel. This person brings deep knowledge of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, materials, costing, manufacturing, and quality. They write precise product specifications and construction standards, solve complex development challenges, and offer technically grounded alternatives without losing sight of the original creative vision. Strong organization and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple projects against tight, calendar-driven timelines. The ideal candidate understands the full apparel creation process, from early concept through commercialization and production, and can work directly with factory partners to strengthen manufacturability. Experience creating garments for retail and fitting products to specification is required. Experience across both menswear and womenswear is an advantage.

  • Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • A minimum of 3 years directly relevant work experience.
  • Minimum five years of technical design experience in the apparel industry, spanning product inception through production.
  • Experience writing product specifications and construction standards and working with factory partners to improve manufacturability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Illustrator, Optitex computer-aided pattern design, and CLO or Browzwear three-dimensional design software is highly desired.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll lead technical design for men’s tennis performance and lifestyle apparel, shaping fit and construction from initial concept through commercialization and production. You’ll balance athlete and consumer needs with product integrity, sustainability, performance, profitability, and calendar requirements to deliver consistent, manufacturing-ready product.

  • Coordinate fit and construction for assigned styles from concept through commercialization and production, delivering against critical dates and product specifications.
  • Create and revise technical packages, product specifications, prototype notes, and development documentation.
  • Execute fit and construction standards across promotional and inline styles to drive consistency.
  • Track prototypes, identify construction and manufacturing challenges, and develop solutions that lead to proven, tested product.
  • Partner with Design, Product Management, Materials, Trims, Sourcing, product creation teams, and factories to tailor products to athlete and consumer needs.
  • Monitor product testing, communicate progress and risks, and help ensure product integrity requirements are met.
  • Stay connected to market trends, team goals, emerging technologies, and athlete and consumer insights throughout the development process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
