In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Radiation Packaging and Transportation Team Lead to support the Department of Energy (DOE) Packaging Certification Program and related activities within ES&H.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities - Bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, in a relevant discipline (e.g., physics, statistics, computer science, nuclear engineering, or a related field). - Experience modeling radiation source terms (e.g., (α,n) neutron production, fission neutron and gamma emission) relevant to the shielding and criticality subject areas of SARPs. - Working knowledge of evaluated nuclear data and its use in deterministic and/or Monte Carlo radiation transport calculations. - Demonstrated ability to develop, verify, and document open-source scientific software for nuclear applications using Python, C/C++, and/or FORTRAN. - Strong background in statistics, uncertainty quantification, and numerical methods applicable to independent confirmatory analysis and the development of benchmarks to validate SARP calculations. - Experience developing and delivering technical course materials, including lab curriculum, exams, homework, and recitation sections. - Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills, including peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations to national laboratories and universities. - Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with subject matter experts across multiple national laboratories and universities. - Ability to quickly learn SARP regulations and standards (e.g., 10 CFR Part 71, DOE O 460.1) and apply them to technical reviews.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
