Why Join

As a Risk Appetite and Concentration Specialist at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in shaping the bank's risk management strategy. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risk concentrations that could impact the bank's overall risk profile. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the bank's risk management framework.

How you succeed

To succeed in this role, you'll need to develop a deep understanding of the bank's risk appetite and concentration risk management framework. You'll work closely with various stakeholders to identify and assess potential risk concentrations and develop strategies to mitigate them. You'll also need to stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure the bank's risk management framework remains effective.

What you do

  • Ensure robust capital adequacy and regulatory compliance by delivering accurate and timely Pillar 1 Credit RWA calculation and Pillar 3 disclosures
  • Provide portfolio insights through comprehensive analysis of Credit RWA, Economic Capital and IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss, providing clear explanations of movements and drivers across business segments, products and geographies
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business and senior management, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance, assessing capital and provisioning implications of new products, and delivering forward‑looking projections to support capital planning and strategic initiatives
  • Strengthen the bank’s resilience to adverse conditions by championing bank‑wide credit stress testing, including Pillar 1 cyclicality, ICAAP, regulatory stress tests, and event‑driven stress tests.
  • Identify potential vulnerable accounts by enabling bottom‑up stress testing through financial and rating projections.
  • Assess and quantify climate and nature related risks impact on credit portfolios
  • Continuously enhance risk measurement capabilities by identifying and implementing improvements to methodologies, systems, and processes, informed by regulatory developments, industry best practices, and emerging technology and tools.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing risk analytics team

Who you are

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or risk management
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in risk management, with a focus on risk appetite and concentration risk management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
