Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious aerospace professional to become our Business Development Specialist. The BD Specialist will support the full BD cycle for our organization, from strategic planning through successful capture of a diverse portfolio within existing and adjacent markets aligned with OSS capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is enjoys working on several projects (or capture opportunities) at once. The BD Specialist will be a key in growing OSS and defining the future state of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support executive strategy for the business unit through market recommendations, built from a solid understanding of the broader industry, market intelligence reports, and customer feedback
  • Oversee marketing and communications efforts to ensure the right audience is reached with a well-tailored message. This may include the identification of appropriate event or publication sponsorships.
  • Identify, prioritize, and qualify pursuits through the OSS process, with an eye toward portfolio diversification to meet long-range planning growth goals.
  • Leverage the use of corporate BD systems (Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Power BI) and associated capabilities to manage OSS periodic reporting requirements, data integrity, and to increase visibility and insight into trending and analysis of OSS opportunity projections.
  • Collaborate with organizations across Space Systems, other divisions of ADTECH, and the broader Oceaneering International corporation to ensure coordination of new business activities and maximum utilization of Oceaneering International resources to grow the business.
  • Engage in relevant space industry conferences, starting with selection, planning, participation, and consistent follow-up with key space industry contacts in support of Oceaneering marketing efforts.
  • Facilitate consistent, professional, compliant responses to Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP). Aid with proposal management responsibilities as needed. This may include supporting the proposal writing efforts as a team member.

This role requires exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers to understand mission needs and effectively communicate a value proposition from OSS. Your motivation and drive will sustain the team's commitment and energy to our BD goals.

***Must be willing to travel domestically with occasional weekend and extended travel.***

*** Hybrid in Clear Lake (Houston), TX, though remote can be considered for the right candidate ***

Qualifications

REQUIRED: • 7 years within aerospace is required, such as in engineering or program management. Supply chain / subcontract management overseeing hardware at an aerospace/defense Prime contractor is also acceptable. • 3 years supporting BD efforts within a FAR/DFAR environment, which might include one or more of these areas: proposal writing, estimating, pipeline development, capture management, and/or contract review/negotiating • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse project teams through engagement and influence, including building consensus and conflict resolution • Demonstrated experience building relationships with high-level decision makers • US Citizenship is required to do the nature of OSS contracts

PREFERRED: • Experience with Shipley or Miller-Heimann approaches • Comfort with MS Dynamics • Secret clearance or ability to be cleared
