About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Coordinator to join our Offshored Services team. This role requires strong accounting skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to follow well-defined processes and standards. Consistent, high-quality work output is essential. The Accounting Coordinator is expected to comply with company policies and regulations, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and proactively escalate relevant issues within their area of responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain and process all supplier and counterpart invoices in compliance with company policies
  • Prepare and record batch and manual payments to suppliers in a timely manner
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of accounting transactions and records

Tasks

The Accounting Coordinator ---

  • Monitor incoming emails in supplier invoice and invoice email inboxes
  • Manage Bergen and Singapore invoices received through invoice handling system.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and proper verification in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software and invoice handling system prior to approval and payment
  • Handle returned and cancelled invoices and resolve related issues
  • Respond to invoice-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Review and monitor Slopchest reports for Odfjell vessels
  • Prepare batch payments twice monthly for Singapore office expenses and provide backup support for Bergen payments
  • Coordinate and execute manual payments for Singapore office expenses as required
  • Record batch and manual payments through accurate journal entries in the ERP system
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records of all payment transactions
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements with general ledger balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Monitor open items in the system and initiate refunds or corrective actions when necessary
  • File financing-related documents in the ERP system
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks assigned by the immediate superior

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong work ethic with high attention to detail
  • Professional, reliable, and results-oriented
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of tasks, and ensure strong follow-through
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
