The posting

About Us

At Oliver’s Travels, we’re passionate about making travel extraordinary. We believe holidays should be memorable, unique and tailored to our guests. That passion has seen us recognised among the best in the industry, with accolades including 10 consecutive years in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, a place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 as one of the UK’s fastest-growing companies, and most recently, Best TV/Streaming Advertising at The Travel Marketing Awards.

Now, we’re looking for a commercially driven Head of Digital Marketing to lead the next phase of our digital growth.

Job Overview

Digital is at the heart of our growth at Oliver’s Travels, and we’re looking for an experienced Head of Digital Marketing to take ownership of how we turn demand into bookings.

Your goal is clear: maximise digital acquisition performance and continually improve conversion across our website and customer journey to drive direct booking growth.

This is a commercially focused role with responsibility across paid media, SEO/GEO, content and conversion. You’ll oversee significant digital marketing investment and lead specialist channel owners, ensuring we maximise performance today while building the strategy and capabilities we need for the future.

You won’t simply report what happened. You’ll be expected to understand why we are ahead or behind our targets, identify the biggest opportunities available to us and recommend what we should do next.

You’ll work closely with Marketing Ops to turn data into insight, and then turn that insight into action. Whether that means changing our acquisition strategy, reallocating investment, improving content, addressing friction in the customer journey or working with our Tech team and CRO partners to improve the website.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll play a key role within the Marketing team and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth of Oliver’s Travels.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Growth & Commercial Performance

  • Own the Digital Growth strategy and annual roadmap, with accountability for turning demand into direct bookings.
  • Own performance against agreed bookings, revenue, traffic, conversion and efficiency targets, clearly communicating why we are ahead or behind plan and what actions are required.
  • Develop forecasts that connect marketing investment, traffic, conversion and bookings to support effective planning and decision-making.
  • Identify and prioritise the biggest opportunities and constraints to growth, focusing investment and resources where they will have the greatest commercial impact.
  • Balance short-term performance with longer-term investment in channels, technology, content and capabilities to deliver sustainable growth.

Acquisition & Channel Leadership

  • Lead our overall digital acquisition strategy across paid media, SEO/GEO and content, ensuring channels work together to maximise performance.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Paid Media, SEO/GEO and Content leads, challenging performance and supporting them as owners and experts within their specialist areas.
  • Oversee a significant and growing digital marketing budget, allocating investment effectively and scaling activity while maintaining agreed efficiency.
  • Ensure our acquisition strategy drives both profitable direct bookings and high-quality enquiries that convert through the Sales team.
  • Stay ahead of changes across digital marketing, search, AI and customer discovery, evolving our strategy and capabilities to support continued growth.

Website Experience & Conversion

  • Own the commercial agenda for conversion across the website and digital customer journey, identifying where demand is being lost and where improvements can have the greatest impact.
  • Work closely with Marketing Ops to understand customer behaviour and funnel performance, translating data into clear priorities, hypotheses and actions.
  • Work with our external CRO specialists, Tech team and wider business to deliver and measure improvements to the customer journey and booking funnel.
  • Connect acquisition and website performance, ensuring learnings from each continually inform and improve the other.
  • Champion experimentation, personalisation and continuous improvement, ensuring opportunities are prioritised, tested and acted upon across the business.

Data, Insight & Decision Making

  • Partner with the Marketing Ops Lead to ensure Digital has the data, measurement and reporting needed to make effective decisions.
  • Turn customer, channel, website and commercial data into clear insight, recommendations and action.
  • Ensure reporting connects marketing activity to traffic, enquiries, bookings and revenue, with an appropriate understanding of attribution and incrementality.
  • Own Digital KPIs and ensure the team understands how its activity contributes to wider commercial objectives.
  • Build a test-and-learn approach where insights are shared quickly, decisions improve and successful activity is scaled.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach and develop the Digital Marketing team, setting clear priorities while empowering specialist Leads to own their areas of expertise.
  • Build strong relationships across Marketing and the wider business, ensuring Digital priorities are understood and effectively delivered.
  • Continually develop the team's capabilities, processes, tools and partnerships to support future growth.
  • Champion a culture of curiosity, accountability, experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the Head of Marketing with wider strategy, planning, forecasting and investment decisions.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Significant experience in a senior digital or ecommerce role, with demonstrable ownership of acquisition strategy and commercial performance.
  • A strong track record of driving growth through a combination of acquisition, organic performance and conversion improvement.
  • Demonstratable experience overseeing significant digital marketing investment and making commercially informed decisions about where and how to invest.
  • Strong knowledge of paid media and SEO, with sufficient technical and commercial depth to challenge channel specialists and their strategies.
  • Strong understanding of website conversion, customer journeys, CRO and experimentation.
  • Highly commercially minded, with the ability to connect marketing metrics to bookings and revenue.
  • Comfortable building and interpreting forecasts and using performance against plan to identify actions and opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to move from data to insight and from insight to prioritised action.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving digital environment and adapting strategy as technology, AI, search and customer behaviour evolve.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex digital performance clearly to both specialists and senior stakeholders.
  • Able to balance immediate commercial performance with longer-term strategic planning and capability development.
  • Proactive, curious and comfortable taking accountability for a significant area of business performance.
  • Experience within travel is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience operating across multiple international markets is an advantage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
