Core Priority Areas

  • Actual Material Costing: Establish and maintain robust data collection processes to accurately calculate the actual costs of raw materials, tracking price fluctuations, freight, duties, and handling charges.
  • New Product Costing: Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to calculate accurate cost estimates for new products, structural innovations, and product modifications (NPD/NPI process).
  • Long-term Aging & Provisions: Formulate strategic analysis on long-term inventory aging and obsolescence. Drive inventory optimization measures with Supply Chain and Sales to mitigate cash loss and manage financial provisions accurately.

Scope of Work

  • Product Costing: Ensure high data quality of product cost estimates and its components in the assigned area of responsibility/legal entity. Maintain and control the update of product cost estimates according to the latest prioritization of costing variants & versions.
  • Profitability Analysis: Ensure high data quality of main CO-PA reports (Sales Results, non-SAP Sales; Gross Sales, Gross Margin, Contribution Margin 1). Support analysis bridges (Plan to Standard, Standard to Actuals, Actuals Reconciliation) for other Finance teams.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support simulation models for detailed process cost analysis in the assigned area of responsibility/legal entity.
  • Period-End Closing: Execute and optimize period-end closing steps within the area of responsibility to achieve high data quality and fast closing.
  • Cost Control & Margin Measures: Support other Finance teams in executing control reports & dashboards (e.g., Process Order variances). Drive margin measures with regional BU/Sales/Sourcing (including cash loss elimination) and Global Head of Pricing.
  • Strategic Pricing & Raw Materials: Implement the pricing subdivision strategy and generate/maintain plan-prices for strategic raw materials. Support position management for strategic raw materials and manage pricing/IT projects. Support and execute pricing trainings, tools, processes, and workshops.
  • Commercial & Market Analysis: Conduct price, cost, and results analysis alongside market, customer, and competition developments to derive necessary measures and support sales argumentations. Handle special calculations for tenders, open book costing, and strategic customer projects. Implement suitable price measures considering changing market conditions.
