Future Talent Opportunity | Product Management - Opera Browsers

Opera is always interested in connecting with experienced Product Managers who can contribute to the evolution of our browser products and digital experiences. This is an ongoing talent opportunity designed to connect with relevant professionals for anticipated future hiring needs and may not represent an immediate vacancy.

Future opportunities may span different products and experiences across Opera’s browser portfolio from established products used by millions of people to new and emerging product concepts. We are interested in Product Managers who understand B2C technology, are curious about how people interact with digital products, and can turn user needs, market developments and new technologies into engaging product experiences.

At Opera, product management sits at the intersection of users, technology and business. We look for people who are comfortable exploring what comes next, challenging assumptions, using data to make decisions, and working closely with engineering and design to bring ideas from discovery to users.

Representative Areas of Work

Opportunities within this function may include responsibilities such as:

  • Develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors and pain points through product data, research, experimentation and direct user insights.
  • Monitor the market, competitive landscape and emerging technologies to identify shifts in user behavior and new product opportunities.
  • Translate user and business needs into clear product problems, hypotheses, requirements and priorities.
  • Contribute to product strategy and roadmaps, balancing user value, business impact, technical possibilities and delivery considerations.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data and other teams throughout product discovery, development, launch and iteration.
  • Define relevant product metrics and use quantitative and qualitative insights to evaluate performance and guide product decisions.
  • Develop and evaluate experiments to improve areas such as onboarding, activation, engagement and retention.
  • Turn complex technologies and capabilities into intuitive, useful and engaging experiences for end users.
  • Gather feedback and performance insights after launch and use them to continuously improve the product.
  • Communicate product direction, priorities, trade-offs and results clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We Typically Look For

  • Experience in Product Management within B2C technology, consumer software, mobile or desktop applications, or other digital products reaching end users.
  • Experience working across the product lifecycle, from discovery and validation through development, launch, measurement and iteration.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to identify opportunities from user needs, behavioral insights and market developments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using product metrics, experimentation and qualitative insights to inform decisions.
  • Ability to work closely with Engineering and Product Design, understand technical possibilities and constraints, and translate them into effective user experiences.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing opportunities and make well-reasoned product trade-offs.
  • Strong interest in consumer technology, evolving digital behaviors and emerging technologies.
  • Ownership mindset, combining strategic thinking with hands-on product execution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with professional fluency in English.
  • Experience with browsers, consumer internet products, search, content discovery, productivity or other frequently used digital products would be valuable.
  • Exposure to areas such as web technologies, browser ecosystems, AI-powered experiences, personalization, recommendation systems or products operating at international scale would be an advantage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
