The posting

The Senior Sales Director, Asia will drive incremental new-business growth and expand Opera’s commercial footprint across Asia, with an initial focus on high-growth sectors including iGaming, Crypto and FinTech. The role will focus on developing new clients, relationships and commercial opportunities, complementing Opera’s existing APAC business development organization. Combining hands-on direct sales with regional sales enablement and ecosystem development, you will take ownership of opportunities from initial prospecting through negotiation and close. You will work closely with regional and global commercial leadership, Product and Technology teams to identify new routes to market and translate customer and market insights into commercial opportunities. The role reports to the EVP of Commerce, with a dotted-line relationship to the VP of Technology for sales enablement and product-related activities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive net-new business growth across Asia, with a strong focus on direct sales, new customer acquisition and incremental revenue generation, particularly within iGaming, Crypto and FinTech.
  • Build and own a high-quality new-business pipeline, identifying prospects and taking commercial opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation and close.
  • Develop senior-level relationships across the regional ecosystem, including prospective customers, strategic partners and other relevant market players, to expand Opera’s commercial reach and identify new routes to market.
  • Partner with regional and global leadership on sales enablement and commercial execution, helping strengthen sales practices, processes and capabilities while supporting the continued development of Opera’s Singapore commercial hub.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Technology and other internal stakeholders, bringing customer and market insights into product and commercial discussions and helping translate them into new business opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in senior commercial, sales or business development roles across Asia, with a strong track record of originating and closing net-new business.
  • Established network and strong understanding of the Asian digital ecosystem, ideally with relevant experience or relationships across iGaming, Crypto, FinTech or adjacent high-growth sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting and opportunity development through complex negotiations and commercial close.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives, customers, partners and cross-functional stakeholders across different markets.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset combined with a hands-on approach to sales, with the ability to operate independently, identify new commercial opportunities and contribute to the development of a growing regional business.
