Job Description
OCI Supply Chain is building an end-of-life monetization capability to recover value from excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory and retired infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced hardware resale professional to develop secondary-market sales channels and sell approved inventory to qualified external buyers.
As our in-house broker, you will own the sales cycle—from identifying buyers and assessing market value through negotiating transactions and coordinating fulfillment and payment. Your portfolio may include new and unused excess components, memory, CPUs, SSDs, networking components, power supplies, and other recoverable server hardware approved for resale.
This is a senior individual contributor role with significant independence and cross-functional influence. You will help establish the commercial processes, buyer relationships, pricing intelligence, and performance measures needed to build a scalable monetization program.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Build and manage a buyer network. Establish relationships with qualified independent distributors, resellers, refurbishers, brokers, and other approved secondary-market buyers. Develop repeat business and competitive demand for available inventory.
- Own transactions from opportunity through collection. Prospect, solicit bids, prepare quotes, negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved authority, close sales, and coordinate order execution and payment with internal teams.
- Maximize net recovery. Evaluate market demand, inventory condition, age, quantity, and expected selling costs to recommend pricing, lot sizes, sales timing, and channel selection.
- Develop market intelligence. Maintain current knowledge of component pricing, buyer demand, technology transitions, and inventory depreciation. Use competitive bids and completed transactions to establish credible pricing benchmarks.
- Partner on inventory readiness. Work with inventory, engineering, and operations teams to confirm part identification, quantities, condition, testing status, ownership, and availability before offering material for sale.
- Coordinate direct and partner sales. Recommend when to sell directly, use an external broker or disposition partner, consolidate lots, or pursue another approved disposition route based on expected net proceeds and execution requirements.
- Maintain disciplined transaction controls. Ensure required buyer approvals, contractual terms, channel restrictions, and release authorizations are complete before shipment. Coordinate with Security and operations to confirm documented sanitization clearance for any data-bearing components approved for resale.
- Coordinate fulfillment and resolve issues. Partner with logistics, Finance, Legal, and operations on shipping, transaction documentation, invoicing, collections, and claims or returns under agreed terms.
- Build a repeatable sales process. Establish buyer qualification practices, quoting workflows, pipeline tracking, transaction records, and reporting suitable for a growing program.
- Report business performance. Provide forecasts and insights on realized proceeds, net recovery, inventory aging, sales cycle time, buyer concentration, and direct-versus-partner channel performance.
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience in electronic component brokerage, enterprise hardware resale, independent distribution, IT asset disposition sales, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated success selling server components or enterprise hardware into secondary markets, with measurable responsibility for revenue, margin, or asset recovery.
- An established network of relevant buyers and the ability to develop new accounts independently.
- Strong understanding of component identification, condition grading, market pricing, and the factors that affect resale value.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing commercial transactions from prospecting through fulfillment and payment.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to compare offers based on net proceeds, transaction costs, payment terms, and execution risk.
- Experience working across supply chain, operations, Finance, and Legal to complete transactions and resolve issues.
- Ability to operate effectively in an emerging program, exercise sound judgment, and establish processes with limited direction.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience monetizing E&O inventory or decommissioned data center equipment at scale.
- Experience selling memory, CPUs, SSDs, NICs, and other server components.
- Familiarity with hardware traceability, counterfeit prevention, warranty limitations, data sanitization documentation, and controlled asset release.
- Experience working with IT asset disposition providers, remarketing partners, and international buyers.
- Experience using CRM, ERP, inventory management, and business intelligence tools.
What success looks like
You will build a qualified, diversified buyer base; establish reliable pricing and sales visibility; and deliver measurable recovery from approved inventory. Success will be evaluated through net recovery, sales velocity, inventory aging reduction, forecast accuracy, repeat business, and adherence to required transaction and asset-release controls.
