Note

Candidates must have 1+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience and an active Michigan Bar license. We welcome attorneys with experience in commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, development, or real estate financing who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

Job Description

As a Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney, you'll join our growing real estate practice and work on a diverse range of commercial property transactions while developing valuable experience and client relationships.

  • Represent clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and financing transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and other real estate contracts.
  • Assist with transactions from initial structuring and due diligence through negotiation and closing.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, zoning issues, environmental reports, and other due diligence materials.
  • Identify potential legal and business risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Communicate directly with clients, lenders, developers, and other transaction participants.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys across real estate, corporate, and related practice areas.
  • Take on increasing ownership of transactions as you develop your experience and expertise.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Michigan Bar license.
  • 1+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, or negotiating commercial real estate agreements.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Commercial leasing, acquisition, disposition, development, or real estate financing experience is preferred.
