Location

Clinton Township, MI — On-site. Join our collaborative legal team in the Metro Detroit area, where you'll work closely with experienced attorneys while enjoying the resources and support of an established firm.

Note

Candidates must hold an active Michigan Bar license and have 10+ years of experience in litigation, municipal law, and/or insurance defense. We're looking for an experienced attorney who can independently manage litigation matters and take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Job Description

  • Independently manage civil litigation cases from initial investigation through settlement or trial.
  • Develop effective litigation strategies and provide practical legal counsel to clients.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Oversee discovery, conduct and defend depositions, and prepare cases for hearings and trial.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
  • Handle matters involving civil litigation, municipal law, insurance defense, and related disputes.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic guidance.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys while maintaining ownership of your caseload.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active Michigan Bar license in good standing.
  • 10+ years of experience in litigation, municipal law, and/or insurance defense.
  • Substantial experience managing litigation matters independently.
  • Strong background in pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex matters and build trusted client relationships.
  • Municipal or public-sector representation experience is valuable, but not mandatory for candidates with strong relevant litigation backgrounds.
