About Ornn
Ornn is building the financial infrastructure for AI compute. Our price indices are live on Bloomberg Terminal. We structure and trade compute hedging instruments. And we're now building a platform that brings exchange-grade mechanics like order management, matching, scheduling, and settlement to how compute capacity gets reserved and allocated. We're a lean team in New York, backed by leading venture and strategic investors.
About the Role
Working directly with Ornn's counsel, you would review and mark up MSAs, order forms and service level agreements, track what is outstanding, and keep contracts moving. Most of it is careful, methodical work on standard paper.
This is a role for someone with real legal training who would rather see how commercial contracts work at a company building a new market than review the hundredth version of the same document at a firm.
What You'll Do
- Review and redline customer MSAs, order forms and service level agreements against our standard positions.
- Prepare first drafts, and turn counsel's comments into clean language.
- Track every contract in flight: which version is current, whose turn it is, and how long it has been sitting.
- Support supplier paperwork: NDAs, diligence documents and onboarding.
- Take contract questions off the go-to-market team so they can sell.
Requirements
- A JD, a paralegal certificate, or late-stage enrollment in a law program. This role needs real legal training, not an adjacent degree.
- Experience reviewing commercial contracts, or clear evidence you can pick it up quickly.
- Precise and methodical. In this job the detail is the work.
- Able to run a queue and chase people without being asked twice.
- Discreet with confidential commercial terms.
- Based in New York and able to work in person at our office.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with technology, services or infrastructure contracts, particularly MSAs and service level agreements.
- Time in an in-house legal team at a startup rather than only at a firm.
- Interest in commercial or commodity markets, or in how compute is becoming an asset class.
- Familiarity with DocuSign and contract management tools.
Why This Role Matters
Ornn sells capacity it does not own, under contracts that promise availability and delivery dates. When our customer paper and our supplier paper do not line up, we carry the difference. Catching that at review is far cheaper than discovering it at a service credit. This role is how the paper keeps up with the deal flow, and how the rest of the team stops doing legal work on the side.
Compensation and Benefits
Benefits include competitive salary, meaningful equity, health coverage, free meals, and additional benefits. This is an early role with significant impact and equity upside.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Ornn is committed to building a diverse team. We evaluate candidates based on their ability to do the work, not on pedigree or background. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
