The posting

About PackageX

PackageX builds the Physical Logistics Execution Platform for enterprise teams working across manufacturing sites, distribution centers, warehouses, retail locations, and other logistics-heavy environments.

Our platform combines Vision AI, workflow automation, mobile execution, and integrations to help companies digitize, execute, and verify physical operations at the point of work, creating trusted evidence of what actually happened.

Our operating model is simple: Execution. Verification. Evidence.

Why This Role Exists

Every scan, photo, and workflow event on a customer's floor lands in our backend. The volume is real: thousands of devices sending scans and images all day, often from spots with bad connectivity, dropping offline and syncing back later. Enterprise customers notice every slow query and every lost event.

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Full Stack) to build and scale the services, APIs, and integrations that carry that load, along with the web screens customers and internal teams use to configure and run the platform. You'll work with product, mobile, AI, and implementation teams to turn messy physical operations into software that holds up in production.

The role is backend-first. You'll design data models, build services and APIs, run integrations with customer ERPs, WMSs, and TMSs, and keep the platform fast and dependable as customers scale. You'll also ship across the stack: the dashboards, configuration tools, and admin screens that sit on top of your own APIs. You'll take a feature from schema to screen without waiting on a separate frontend team, make architecture calls, own your services in production, and get pulled into customer integrations when they get hard.

How This Role Works

This is one role with two modes, and you'll move between them often, sometimes in the same week.

Backend mode. You're in the services: designing data models and APIs, building workflow and event-processing logic, integrating with customer systems and our Vision AI pipeline, and owning what you ship in production.

Full stack mode. You're in the web app: building the dashboards, workflow configuration tools, and reporting views that customers and our implementation teams use every day, on top of the APIs you designed.

Both halves matter. If you're a backend engineer who won't touch a UI, or a frontend engineer who has never owned a production service and a database, this probably isn't your role. If you genuinely enjoy both, keep reading.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build the backend services and APIs that power the PackageX platform, mobile app, and web console.
  • Model data for complex, configurable workflows (events, evidence, and customer configuration) and keep it consistent as volume grows.
  • Build and maintain integrations with customer ERPs, WMSs, TMSs, third-party APIs, webhooks, and data exports.
  • Write event-driven and async processing with queues, workers, and scheduled jobs.
  • Build the backend behind Vision AI features, image ingestion, processing pipelines, and result storage, and work with the AI team to move results from model to platform to customer report.
  • Handle offline sync and conflict resolution for data coming in from mobile devices on the floor.
  • Build web features end to end, from API to UI: dashboards, configuration tools, admin, and reporting. Our web stack uses both React and Svelte.
  • Find and fix slow queries, bottlenecks, and reliability issues before customers feel them.
  • Own your services in production: deploys, monitoring, logging, alerting, on-call, and post-incident fixes.
  • Keep the platform secure: access control and multi-tenant data isolation.
  • Write tests, review code, and keep design docs and API documentation in a state other engineers can build on.
  • Join implementation and customer conversations when an integration or data issue needs an engineer in the room, and push for reusable platform patterns over one-off customer builds.

You Might Be a Fit If

Backend engineering

  • You've spent 5+ years building and running production backend services.
  • You're strong in Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Go.
  • You know relational databases well: schema design, indexing, query tuning, and migrations. We run both MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • You've designed APIs and built integrations with third-party or enterprise systems.
  • You've worked with queues and async processing (SQS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar).
  • You've deployed and run services on AWS or GCP, with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

Full stack

  • You have hands-on React experience and can ship a production-ready web feature on your own. This is required.
  • You've worked with Svelte, or you're confident picking it up quickly. Parts of our web stack use it, so prior experience is a real plus.
  • You're comfortable owning a feature from database schema to UI.

How you work

  • You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical teammates.
  • You're comfortable owning ambiguous problems and making sound calls without a perfect spec.
  • You stay close enough to customer workflows to understand why what you're building matters.

Nice to have

None of these are required, but any of them will make us sit up:

  • You've integrated with ERP, WMS, TMS, or other logistics and enterprise systems.
  • You've worked on image pipelines, ML-backed products, or mobile backends with offline sync.
  • You've built or run multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
  • You've worked in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, warehousing, or another operations-heavy space.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
