Role Overview:
The Handyman will support the Engineering team in maintaining the Convention Center’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for guests, clients, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building works.
- Assist technicians and engineers with preventive maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify repair needs or safety hazards.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Support event setup requirements related to basic technical and facility needs.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in plant rooms and maintenance areas.
- Report major faults or technical issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
Candidate Profile:
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in hospitality, commercial buildings, or large facilities.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of handling maintenance-related tasks.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, and during events if required.
