About the Opportunity

Build your future with Parametrix!

We are looking for motivated and curious students to join our Summer 2027 Internship Program! Each summer, Parametrix welcomes approximately 10–20 interns across our offices, providing meaningful opportunities to gain hands-on experience, develop professional skills, and explore careers in the consulting industry.

As a 100% employee-owned firm, we believe in investing in the next generation of professionals. Our interns work alongside experienced employee-owners, contribute to real projects, and gain valuable insight into how we collaborate with clients and communities to create lasting solutions.

We anticipate internship opportunities across a variety of disciplines, including:

  • Civil and Other Engineering Disciplines: Transportation, water, structural, environmental, and other engineering specialties.
  • Environmental Sciences: Environmental studies, natural resources, permitting, and related fields.
  • Planning: Transportation, environmental, community, and infrastructure planning.
  • Construction Management: Construction engineering, inspection, project coordination, and construction management.
  • Surveying: Land surveying, field data collection, mapping, and related technical services.
  • Advisory Services: Management consulting, infrastructure and capital program strategy, financial and data analysis, organizational improvement, and strategic planning.

Our summer internships are typically full-time, in-person opportunities based in one of our offices. Specific locations, disciplines, and positions will be determined as we finalize our summer staffing needs.

Your Role on the Team:

Your experience will vary depending on your discipline, interests, and assigned team, but you can expect opportunities to:

  • Contribute to meaningful projects that support infrastructure, communities, and the environment.
  • Work alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your learning and development.
  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges through technical assignments, project coordination, fieldwork, research, analysis, or other discipline-specific activities.
  • Develop familiarity with industry practices, technology, tools, and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to the consulting industry.
  • Participate in project meetings, team activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Build relationships with fellow interns and employee-owners across Parametrix.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, environmental science, planning, construction management, surveying, business, finance, public administration, economics, data analytics, or a related field.
  • An interest in gaining practical experience and exploring a career in your chosen discipline.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to projects and working as part of a team.
  • Availability to work full-time during the summer, with the ability to work in person at an assigned Parametrix office.

Previous internship or industry experience is not required. We are looking for students who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow.

Why Intern at Parametrix?

Real experience. Real projects. Real connections.

At Parametrix, our internships are designed to be more than a summer job. We want you to leave with valuable experience, stronger technical skills, meaningful professional relationships, and a better understanding of where your career could take you.

You will benefit from:

  • Meaningful Work: Contribute to active projects and see how your work makes a difference.
  • Mentorship: Learn from experienced professionals who enjoy sharing their knowledge and supporting emerging talent.
  • A Collaborative Culture: Be part of a welcoming, supportive, and fun team that values your ideas and contributions.
  • An Intern Community: Connect with other interns and build relationships across our organization.
  • Career Exploration: Gain exposure to different career paths and opportunities within the consulting industry.
  • Future Opportunities: Many of our interns continue their careers with Parametrix after graduation, and we enjoy supporting that transition.

Interested in Joining Us?

We are beginning to connect with students for our Summer 2027 Internship Program and would love to learn more about you!

Because our internship opportunities are based on anticipated project and staffing needs, we may not know all available disciplines or office locations when you apply.

We encourage you to submit your resume and tell us about your academic background, professional interests, and preferred office location(s). Our Talent Acquisition team will review applications as opportunities are identified and connect with students whose interests and qualifications align with our needs.

We look forward to meeting the next generation of Parametrix professionals!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
