About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Water/Wastewater Process Design Manager to join our established Water team. In this role, you will lead process and mechanical design efforts for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for our clients. You will provide technical leadership, support project delivery, mentor engineering staff, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our Water practice.

Our preference is for this position to be based in western Washington or Portland, Oregon, with opportunities to collaborate with teams throughout the region. We are also open to considering exceptional candidates outside these locations who are willing to travel to support client relationships, mentorship, team integration, and key Water division initiatives.

Your Role on the Team:

  • Lead process and mechanical design for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, including the development of plans, specifications, technical reports, and construction documents.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance throughout project delivery, ensuring designs meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and established engineering standards.
  • Manage and coordinate design efforts across multidisciplinary teams, including developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and work plans to support successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and technical specialists to develop practical, innovative, and sustainable water and wastewater solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted technical resource and supporting communication, coordination, and problem-solving throughout project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and design staff, supporting professional development, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence across the Water team.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal development, technical expertise, and identification of opportunities to expand our Water practice.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design approaches, technical standards, and project delivery practices.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in municipal water and wastewater planning, design, and construction, with significant experience in treatment facility process and mechanical design.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical design efforts and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, equipment, systems, and applicable design standards.
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools and technologies, including Revit and Civil 3D.
  • Strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
  • Ability to provide technical mentorship, solve complex engineering challenges, and contribute to innovative, sustainable project solutions.
  • Experience with water distribution and wastewater collection systems is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
