Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Radar Hardware Engineer to join our team! In this role you will utilize your proven problem solving skills and experience managing teams to deliver capabilities for the United States Department of Defense, from developing requirements through hardware delivery and checkout, on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead assessment and implementation of acquisition, fielding, and sustainment plans and procedures for terminal and forward based mode AN/TPY radars
- Provide input into weekly Cross Product Team (CPT), Integrated Product Team (IPT), and Health and Status meetings with Army Capability Manager and MDA program office in order to solve pressing engineering issues
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage failure review and engineering review boards, track follow-up actions, and advocate for government interests
- Prepare or lead preparation of technical, programmatic, schedule, and budget briefings in support of the assigned radar program offices in MDA, coordinate meeting schedules, host as necessary and assist executive program leads in communicating MDA vision and intent
- Verify and validate change actions against requirements including specifications, core standards, unique performance measures and Missile Defense Agency Mission Assurance Provision requirements
- Travel to radar sites to support equipment and software delivery and integration, checkout, and testing as well as assisting program executives in gaining technical perspective regarding system operation and capability in relation to operational needs.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership to assist in determining acceptability of new radar hardware prior to acquisition by the government
- Provide technical direction to Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Design Reviews (PDR, CDR, FDR)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to engineer viable solutions to address evolving component-level obsolescence.
- Travel (30%) to prime contractor facility, test ranges, and weapon site locations
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Active Secret clearance or higher
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline specifically related to area of specialty and 10+ years of related professional experienceAdvanced degree may be preferred at this level
- Knowledge and application of phased array radar theory, function, and design
- Familiarity with engineering design, installation, and maintenance of high voltage power systems
- Working knowledge of MDA Systems Engineering processes and procedures
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Master's Degree in STEM field and 12+ years of relevant experience
- Experience managing major system acquisition and sustainment efforts
- Working knowledge of major end items, Software and Hardware, of the AN/TPY Radar
- Experience fielding an operational asset
- Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with Program Management
- Experience implementing systems engineering "V" processes
- Ability to self-manage and initiate within team structure
- Ability to decompose complex problems to actionable elements
- Ability to present complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels
- Working knowledge of Missile Defense System (MDS) architecture and concepts

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
