Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and curious Technical Project Manager who is ready to grow their career while taking on meaningful responsibility across technology-focused client engagements. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects, work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams, develop expertise in emerging solutions, and gain broader exposure to the business behind the projects. As part of Parsons X, you will bring together client teams, Parsons technical and business resources, partners, and subcontractors to solve complex problems and deliver successful outcomes, while building the experience needed to take on increasingly complex project leadership roles.

This position is well suited for someone with several years of experience supporting or managing technology projects who is ready for greater ownership and responsibility. We are not necessarily looking for the most seasoned Project Manager. We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals, sound judgment, initiative, and the drive to grow.

Approximately 70% of the role will focus on project delivery, with the remaining time supporting Parsons X business operations and strategic priorities.

An initial area of focus will be Asset Guardian, a growing Parsons X solution that brings together sensor-generated and other infrastructure data to help clients put trusted asset information to work within their existing environments. Early engagements will include pilots and smaller implementations, with the opportunity to manage larger and more complex implementations as client adoption grows.

This role is not limited to Asset Guardian. The Technical Project Manager will have opportunities to support other Parsons X technology projects and emerging solution engagements based on client and business needs.

The role reports directly to the head of Parsons X, providing exposure to leadership priorities, client engagements, proposals and pursuits, management briefings, presentations, and other initiatives across the business. For someone who is curious about how projects, clients, technology, people, and growth come together, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop a broader business perspective while building a project management career.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery and Client Management

  • Manage technology projects and client engagements from initiation through completion, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, risks, issues, and overall project performance.
  • Bring together client teams, Parsons technical and business resources, partners, and subcontractors to create an integrated project team with clear roles, shared priorities, and accountability for delivery.
  • Lead internal and client project meetings, establish clear objectives, facilitate productive discussions, capture decisions and action items, and ensure commitments are followed through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, dashboards, status reports, financial forecasts, risk and issue tracking, and other tools required to provide clear visibility into project health and outcomes.
  • Communicate project status succinctly to clients, project teams, and leadership, focusing on progress, outcomes, schedule, financial performance, risks, decisions, and required actions.
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts and understand how project performance, staffing, scope, and schedule decisions affect monthly and overall financial results.
  • Identify risks and issues early and take an active role in driving them toward resolution.
  • Build trusted client relationships and confidently take the lead in client conversations, including on-site meetings and project activities when appropriate.
  • Listen beyond immediate project requirements to understand broader client needs and identify opportunities where Parsons may be able to provide additional value.
  • Foster collaboration across organizations and disciplines, working through competing priorities and differing perspectives while keeping teams focused on shared project outcomes.

Emerging Solutions and Technology Delivery

  • Serve as Project Manager for Asset Guardian pilots and implementations, as well as other Parsons X technology and emerging solution engagements as assigned.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the solutions being delivered, including the technology, data, client environment, and intended business outcomes.
  • For Asset Guardian, develop an understanding of how sensor and other infrastructure data are generated, processed, and integrated into client environments.
  • Work closely with solution leaders, technical teams, clients, partners, and subcontractors to coordinate implementation activities and resolve delivery issues.
  • Develop sufficient solution knowledge to confidently support customer demonstrations, onboarding, training, and ongoing client engagement.
  • Help establish repeatable project management processes, templates, tools, and delivery practices that can scale as emerging solutions mature and client adoption grows.
  • Apply sound project management practices while remaining flexible enough to work in technology environments where the solution or delivery approach may continue to evolve.

Business Operations and Leadership Support

  • Support coordination of Parsons X quarterly business briefings and other leadership activities, including gathering information from business leaders and developing clear, executive-level materials.
  • Coordinate across the Parsons X leadership team to gather information, track commitments, and support management reporting and business priorities.
  • Support development and coordination of proposals, client deliverables, sales presentations, and other business materials.
  • Help prepare for important internal and external presentations by organizing information, developing and refining presentation materials, and helping ensure key messages are communicated clearly and professionally.
  • Provide hands-on coordination for special initiatives, client activities, and other business priorities as needs arise across Parsons X.

What Will Make You Successful

You take ownership. You do not wait to be told every next step. You see what needs to happen, take initiative, and follow through. When something is at risk, you surface it early and help drive it toward resolution.

You are a collaborative project leader. You know successful delivery depends on bringing people together around a common outcome. You work effectively across client teams, Parsons technical and business teams, partners, and subcontractors. You clarify roles and expectations, work through differences constructively, and create the alignment and accountability needed to keep teams moving forward.

You are organized without being bureaucratic. You value schedules, budgets, forecasts, action items, dashboards, and accountability because they help move the work forward, not because project management is simply about maintaining a process.

You are comfortable with ambiguity. Some assignments will have established processes. Others, particularly emerging solution engagements, may not. You can apply sound project management thinking while helping determine the best way forward.

You are curious about technology. You do not need to be the technical expert, but you want to understand how the solution works, how the pieces fit together, and how technology and data help solve a client's problem. You can learn enough to communicate confidently with clients and technical teams.

You communicate clearly and succinctly. You can run a meeting, ask good questions, listen, capture what matters, and leave people clear about decisions, responsibilities, and next steps. You can also turn complex information into a concise project dashboard, executive update, proposal, or presentation.

You are financially minded. You understand that successfully managing a project includes managing the business of the project. You pay attention to budgets, forecasts, scope, changes, and the financial implications of project decisions.

You are comfortable with clients. You enjoy building relationships, are confident taking the lead in client conversations, and listen for what the client is really trying to accomplish. You recognize where Parsons may be able to help solve additional problems and expand the value we provide.

You are present, responsive, and dependable. People know they can count on you. You follow through, close loops, communicate proactively, and remain engaged and accessible to clients and internal teams.

You are willing to roll up your sleeves. You are not overly concerned with whether something falls perfectly within your job description. Whether it is resolving a project issue, improving a presentation, preparing for an important client meeting, or pulling together information for a leadership briefing, you are willing to jump in and help get it done.

You want to grow. You may not have every skill required to manage a large, complex technology program today. You have the foundation, judgment, curiosity, initiative, and ambition to develop into that level of project leader.

What We Are Looking For

  • Several years of experience supporting or managing technology-focused projects, with demonstrated readiness to take on increasing project ownership and responsibility.
  • Strong foundational project management skills across scope, schedule, budget, risk, issues, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience managing project budgets and forecasts, with an understanding of project financial performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Confidence interacting directly with clients, technical teams, partners, subcontractors, business leaders, and senior leadership.
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation-development capabilities, including the ability to organize complex information into clear, professional, executive-ready materials.
  • Comfort learning new technology and working with technical subject matter.
  • A self-starter mindset with demonstrated initiative, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Experience with intelligent transportation systems, sensors, data platforms, infrastructure technology, or related environments is a plus, but is not required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements, project delivery, training, presentations, and other business needs.

Working Environment

This is a remote position that requires a high degree of engagement and responsiveness throughout the workday. The successful candidate will maintain a professional remote work environment that supports focused work, frequent virtual meetings, and regular interaction with clients, project teams, partners, and senior leadership.

Because this is a highly visible and client-facing position, the Technical Project Manager should be comfortable working on camera and maintaining a professional presence during virtual client and internal meetings. The role also requires flexibility to travel as needed for client engagements and other business activities.
