SVP of Global Logistics and Distribution Operations- Job Profile

Role Summary:

The SVP of Global Logistics and Distribution Operations will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's day-to-day operations to ensure just in time delivery to our customer. This role is critical in driving efficiency, maximizing profitability, and ensuring the seamless execution of the company's strategic objectives. The candidate will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee all customer compliance, Sales Operations, Inbound/outbound logistics, import/exports, Industrial Engineering and all distribution center operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior management to develop and implement the company's strategic plan.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans and initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and collaborate with all functions of the supply chain.
  • Inventory management is everyone’s job. Make sure to communicate to management, any concerns.
  • Supply Chain and Logistics Management:
  • Optimize the company's supply chain to ensure efficiency and distribution of products.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Frequently evaluate the logistic network to optimize the transportation cost and speed.
  • Communicate to management changes in Import/exports laws and regulations that may affect the company.
  • Communicate to management significant changes in the Global Logistic network that may affect cost or deliveries.
  • Customer Compliance:
  • Oversee the training, communications, and implementation of all customer requirements.
  • Oversee implementation of the company sustainability and social compliance as outlined by the Director of Social compliance.

Industrial Engineering(IE):

  • Workforce and Labor standard. Oversee the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures(SOP).
  • Ensure that Time and Motion studies are kept up to date for all functions of the DC.
  • Closely collaborate with Information Technology to implement new DC systems and Material Handling Systems.
  • Ensure that the DC management is working to optimize the expected efficiency and SOP set by IE.
  • Financial Management:
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop and manage the operational budget.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure financial accountability and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Technology and Innovation:
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation in operational processes and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in a senior operational leadership role within the apparel or retail industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and production processes.
  • Excellent strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience with international business practices, due to Perry Ellis International's global presence.
