Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to provide professional grooming services for dogs and cats. The ideal candidate has a deep love for animals, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of different breeds and coat types. As a Pet Groomer, you will play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our furry clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform grooming services: Conduct bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, and styling tailored to the pet’s specific breed and the owner’s requests.
  • Ensure hygiene: Provide thorough nail trims, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and de-shedding treatments.
  • Prioritize animal safety: Handle all pets with patience and care, using proper techniques to soothe anxious animals and ensure a stress-free grooming experience.
  • Assess pet health: Inspect pets for potential health issues such as skin conditions, ear infections, fleas, and ticks, and inform owners of any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment: Sanitize all grooming tools and workstations before and after each client to adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Provide customer service: Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their needs, provide grooming recommendations, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Manage operations: Keep accurate records of services performed for each client and, if required, handle scheduling appointments.
  • Advise on pet care: Educate pet owners on at-home care techniques and best practices to maintain their pet’s coat and overall hygiene.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Animal handling: Proven experience with safe and gentle animal handling techniques for pets of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Technical grooming skills: Proficiency with professional grooming tools, including clippers, scissors, and different types of brushes.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach for building trust with both pets and their owners.
  • Patience and compassion: A genuine love for animals and the ability to remain calm and composed, especially with anxious or difficult pets.
  • Physical stamina: The ability to stand for long periods, as well as lift and maneuver pets of various weights.
  • Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail to achieve precise grooming results and identify potential health concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification from a recognized grooming school (such as the National Dog Groomers Association of America).

Previous experience in a veterinary or pet care setting.

A portfolio showcasing your work on various breeds.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in a professional grooming salon, which can be a fast-paced and occasionally noisy environment.

The role requires physical activity, including frequent bending, lifting, and handling pets.

Flexible scheduling, including weekends and some holidays, may be required depending on client demand
